Have you checked turbo wasre gate to make sure it is closed and staying that way? Have you lost all boost or is it just low?

Thank you for your reply, I checked the waste gate and it was functioning pulled the air intake off and tried to spin the turbo impeller and found it froze up! The truck only has 95,000 original miles and the original owner had put an aftermarket turbo on it that I can't seem to find any brand name on. Any recommendations for a new turbo?

Oops! That would put a crimp in the boost rise. A better than stock would be good, an HE351 off of a later truck is a good choice. Other than that, there are bunch of choices for updated turbos and everyone has their favorites.

Check out "High Tech Turbos". I've had mine (a Quick Diesel 64/14) since early 07 about 100k miles ago. Got to let them EGTs come down to 350 or less before you shut her down otherwise the oil in the turbo bearings can coke and clog up.

make sure the oil pressure line is not plugged and give Turbo resource a call in Lake Havasu, Arizona a call. they do great things with turbo's
