My Edge Evolution CTS2 developed a strange issue a few weeks ago, I just purchased it in July. It started turning on by itself overnight and developed a "ghost touch" issue where the screen acted like someone was touching it while driving.

I contacted Edge and was sent a new unit and I even replaced the obd2 cable that it connects with. The new unit will not turn off when the ignition is turned off. It just stays on. They have given me software updates that have not fixed the issue. The unit communicates with the PCM and will load tunes and monitor PID's correctly. They have sent the issue to their "engineers" and I haven't heard back from them in several days.

I have checked all grounds and I am getting 0.00 ohms at the obd2 grounds, both pin 4 and pin 5. Batteries are good, no trouble codes, and no issues with anything drawing a current when the truck is shut off. The only aftermarket electronic device I have is a Sony head unit and I don't have any issues with it. I even checked all the wiring to it to rule it out as a possible culprit of some kind of interference. I'm stumped.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue that they got a fix for? I have spent hours searching the internet and no one seems to have encountered the same issue and posted a fix for it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Just wanted to post an update.

Edge customer support was extremely helpful. It took a few weeks for them to come up with a fix, but they did it. They said they were experiencing similar issues with other 3rd gen trucks and came up with a software update.

I believe the issue with the unit turning on had to do with the windshield wiper motor problem in some 3rd gen trucks. It didn't occur to me that the tuner would receive a signal from the wiper motor but it's the only electronic issue I've ever had. I previously experienced an issue with my wiper speeds being erratic, I replaced the switch and it seemed to fix it for a while. After some searching here on TDR, I found the issue was apparently the motor itself.

My touch screen is shot but it's not the same problem. I find the brightness and glare to be very poor. You could use the torque app and ODB2 Bluetooth connector to verify it's not the truck.
