68RFE oil circulation in park

68RFE Question

Found this during a routine oil and filter change. Yes I go in from the top :)>.
Now this could be self inflicted from removing the air intake hoses to access the oil filter many times, and possibly not aligning the hoses perfect. If it wasn't self inflicted you might want to check yours.
Looks like that bellows is part of the intercooler tube, and I guess will have to be replaced with the whole assembly.

YUP that was my thread. Same exact issue!

Mine is getting replaced under warranty Monday.

I think its a clearance issue as I make sure everything is tight and in place every time.

Yeah, mines going in Wednesday for the latch recall, and hopefully they will warranty this bellows.

had the truck in for the latch recall, and also hoped to get my inter cooler hose replaced. DENIED!
Guess I'm out of warranty at 82k on the clock. They wanted $400.00 to do it. To top it off some idiot FedEx pos driver didn't know to move over on a narrow road when 2 large trucks are trying to negotiate the oncoming pass , and busted my driver mirror all to I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER. scratched my window, and chipped up some paint.$2,000 to repair, which I had to pay out $500. The last week hasnt been real fun.

So you don't have an extended warranty? Mine WAS covered.

Mine looks just like yours.

To get South this last October after finding my potential serious problem I wrapped the pipe with a intercooler boot with a band clamp til I could get to the Dealer.

Do what i did if you don't want to spend the $$$.

Thanks for the info. Yes I'm just going to buy a after market hose for it. There under $60.00. I actually do have 100,000 mile extended warranty that will replace this, but there is a $250.00 deductible. Since the truck isn't needed for towing duties its not an emergency at this point since I finally got a second car 6 months ago. Good idea using that hose for what we used to call chaffing gear in the USCG. Many applications almost exactly like your temp set up. Thanks again.

Don't know but i do know the boot is "attached" to a steel pipe. IMHO look for the best price on the OE replacement part.

I suppose you could cut off the band and get just a boot to fit and add another clamp.

Those the change their oil filter via the wheel well will find this issue when the boot fails and they loose boost! SnoKing

ok, gotcha. It looks like the hoses and pipe are one unit. Is that the case here? I haven't got it apart yet to actually see it well. Im thinking an extra clamp and new boot would be in my best interest cost wise, but if I have to buy the whole assembly that sucks. I usually do go with oem but dang, I think they want $300.00+ for that assembly. I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday.
