When can I have my 900 ft lbs?

With the on board torque management on my 2017 I am guessing not when;
its too cold
its too hot
starting off
passing on the interstate
heavily loaded
up a long grade
in the wet
when hooked up to a trailer
when the wipers are on
in 4wheel drive
when the stereo is real loud ( I made that up for laughs)

which leaves, when can I have it?

I don't have your answer, but I do believe torque management should be controlled by your right foot instead of a computer. I also believe there are a lot of people that wouldn't know how to do that and cause all sorts of warranty claims.

I think it's a duty cycle thang. I think I feel it pulling 21K lbs up a 15% grade or getting on the interstate.

that's why I may get a smarty tuner and the heck with the warrenty. If the truck breaks after I take out dead pedal then the transmission/engine combo wasn't designed well enough

Wellll, I installed a Powerup Performance Module on mine and really liking it....see the discussion on my thread: Pedal Delay Gone-Performance Increased right here in the 4th Gen. Driving my 5500 is now fun. Seat of the pants feel is the same as Smarty level 5 (90HP) but about half the price of everything you need with the Smarty. If that's all you want its worth a try. If you want more than 90HP or custom tunes, you can't go wrong with a Smarty IMHO. I hear there are other options too. I'm just sharing what is working for me so far, easy install, and works.

I finally gave up, burned my warrenty and got a smarty touch coming after smoging my truck today and hearing the kid tell me his friend has a 2017 like mine with a tuner and it drives much better. I may regret it but I think that since i am not looking for max hp just better throttle response that the tuner will do the same for this truck that it did for my 2003 that went 200K on a 48RE. Then again maybe I paid thousands more for an aisin that was a complete waste

You may want to try the tuner or module before you delete. You may be surprised how well some of these performance upgrades work with the emissions. Keep us posted what you get and how well it works.

Cheers, Ron

I am not going to delete. Smarty is know to be the most aggressive times and the high end but I generally just go for tow mode
