No more Manual transmission in 2019? That sucks not only did they make the truck UGLY they take away the one option that could have swayed me back to buy another RAM.
I wanted to see how many I could slip this by!Lol, I knew what it meant.
Wayne, you did it wrong.![]()

comrade newsa - several of my buddies with g56s all chimed in today with similar thoughts as yours. now i almost want to stop driving mine.Intereating that a lighter graphite iron block had less vibration than heavier cast iron. I'll stick with cast iron. And watch the resale price of the manual transmission trucks skyrocket as they become collectors items because they are no longer made.
jgillott,
How much torque do you feel you are getting out of your truck, just WAG a number?
I once drove a friends Prevost bus conversion with 500 HP and almost 2,000 lb feet of torque and it absolutely had torque management on the Allison transmission. The bus weighed around 40Klbs.
I've owned every Gen of Ram, and each has progressively performed better and stronger. My 2017 Ram 5500 is derated to 325HP/ 750TQ and is the best all around truck (so far) I've owned in terms power, trans, cooling, max tow programming, and GVWR/GCWR. BTW, to be honest, I'm now running a computer to give me the same HP/TQ as the pickups, only my truck ways almost 12K Lbs versus around 8-9K lbs on the pickups.
I just want better understand your perspective and expectations of hp and tq on your truck.
I appreciate the discussion,
Ron
