When I bought my 06 it came with a hard one piece fiberglass bed cover. It has been very useful on road trips where I can throw the luggage in the bed and lock everything up. Two problems I have with it:

1: My garage door just broke it.
2: I can't use my truck as a truck with the one piece cover. I can't put a tree in the back, washer/dryer etc. I've been using my trailer for that kind of stuff but it's annoying.

So I'm interested in a foldable hard bed cover that is weatherproof and lockable, fire away with your suggestions...Thanks.

I have TRI Folded cover now. IT is easy to install and remove if needed just four locking levers that secure the cover to the underside of the bed. The cover also has two straps that will secure the cover in the folded position so, it will not open when you are driving. I have used this for 5 years now, it replaced a roll up cover that failed.
The cover is made of Al and vinyl which is not lockable unit. I have had two vinyl covers one roll-up and one tri-fold that I have owned on this truck never had anything stolen out of the bed. I am just saying.

I have the aluminum roll up cover, its lockable and it rolls into its on container, slides in and out of container and you can't cut it with a knife, Monte

I have had a Bak-Flip for 5 years now, very happy with it, no issues. You can fold it all the way up against the back window and lock it there for full bed access, or you can lock it with all but the last section folded back so you can still see out the back window. It has drain tubes for water that might manage to get in the tracks on the side. Once in a while a tiny bit of water gets in, but seldom. I don't think any off them will guarantee the bed will stay 100% dry 100% of the time, other than the one piece fiberglass ones that have a lip over all sides of the bed and the tailgate.

I was intrigued by the roll up bed covers, but there has to be a box or something where the cover rolls up into, so you lose a little bit of bed space.

We sell alot of the bak flip covers. They seem to be holding up well. Some covers you have to be careful because in extreme cold temps they do not want to operate correctly. If you are not working with anyone ill be happy to help ya out with a cover.

Me either....if they can't see anything, generally not worth the risk of breaking in, only to find nothing in there.

I understand the odds are slim on theft, but as often as I carry firearms back there I'm not taking any chances. I made the mistake of leaving my toolbox unlocked on my 2nd Gen only to have all of the tools stolen out of it, lesson learned.

This is my second Access brand tonneau cover. I had one on my 01 dually with toolbox and now this 03 shortbed with toolbox.

GrantP, I too would not want a vinyl cover on my pick-up bed if I were to carry firearms in the bed of the truck. But I don't carry firearms back there and the only thing of valvue that I mainly carry in the bed is my Demco Glide Hitch so, a vinyl cover is adequate for me. I do have a small locked storage box that is also carried in the front of the bed bolted to two 2X4 that run across the width of the bed.

I would prefer firearms on person.....but understand there are situations where they can't be. Need constitutional carry in EVERY state, as if the 2nd Amendment is not enough already.

I've had a vinyl Access cover for 5 years and it works well, but no lock. Bought the locking tailgate handle from Genos so it locks now. Won't stop the cutting, it works for me.

After destroying 2 vinyl tri fold covers, Snow don't ask... I went with an ExTang tri fold solid. It's now on the 4th truck and still holding up well though showing it's age. I would not own anything else.
