He's at lowest for that ball. I bought a 10" drop just in case. I use 8" on weigh safe most times tho.I'd say you're under 7k lbs. May want to lower your ball mount and level out the trailer.

How much drop on the ball you got now?So towing was 100% successful! I love this truck even more, and yes at about 6k and towing up a hill was absolutely no problem with this Cummins. My old 5.3L Silverado couldn’t get out of its own way let alone haul my car.
As far as the ball mount, I need to purchase a new one, that was the lowest my current one would go.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE TIPS AND KNOWLEDGE SHARED!

Did you lock out 6th or let it do it's thing? Did it even downshift on the grades you pulled?

I just got one Friday.
I got a weigh safe 10" drop, but predominately use 8" unless towing the small utility trailer which can use the lowest setting. It too, can be flipped around for storage so you don't hit your shins. It is a 6” drop, I want to order a B&W tow and stow and it seems 7” is the biggest available for that particular model...think it will be ok? Any other recommendations?
You'll love it!
