Big,
I’ve heard good things about that product for ballast. My JD4440 had calcium chloride and when you get a leak, it can really cause a mess! I just use that one to pull a 20’ rotary mower, so had the ballast removed last summer when one tire leaked. The tire shop sent a new rim because they said they often find damage beyond repair from the calcium. Luckily, mine was okay. Interested in hearing how you like the tires. I need a set of fronts for my old Oliver 1555. I put a set of Firestone fronts on the 4440 two years ago - pricey!

Big, have you considered industrial treads instead of ag bars on the rear? I like my LT E (since I have a loader) truck tires on the front because they don't cut up the ground and grass when turning like ag ribs do. Ask your tire man what he recommends for your use.

Mark out here in Indiana its clay soil so when it rains HEAVY AS XXXX WHEN IT DOES it turns slick as ice, only mud. If I understand your talking about "Turf Tires" It would probably be fine if all I used it for was pulling a finish mower around. Our garden is getting bigger and bigger and I'm wanting to turn several acres and try my hand a Sweet Corn. Pulling a Double Bottom Plow wouldn't do so well with Turf tires.

Hey Bud hope things are going well, No matter what tire I go with the Rim guard is going in them. How do you like your Oliver? there are a couple of Oliver 1650's that can be had near me, both Gas. Im interested in going Diesel on my next Toy Project.

Big,
I really like my Oliver. It’s a 53 horse gas and just the right size for a lot of different jobs, yet not too big. I have several attachments for it, some manufactured and some I’ve built. It was built in 1973, before cabs were offered on the 55 series. This is a retrofit from White Motors, after they bought Oliver. The cab needs paint - maybe this year’s summer project. This picture is from a few weeks ago when I took it to work on my son’s road.
