Did you take a picture of the load setup. You have a lot of weight on the rear axle. So quad(s) on the truck and a bumper pull behind? SnoKing

Yes, photo is in the post with the weights.

2 Quads above the bed, and firewood/gen in the bed.

Good report, thanks for sharing. I do have a question for you or anyone with a newer truck. My son recently bought a Ram '16 3500 Cab Chassis that I was looking at. He was a little concerned about how low the intercooler was, he gets in the sticks quite often. I was also surprised at how small it was and that the only airflow was from the back side of the fan. I assume the pickups are the same? I haven't looked at his '16 dually pickup. It would be interesting to know what the IAT is V/S the older trucks.

Sounds the same as my '18's intercooler, but I think it will get decent airflow with the large opening in the bumper.

IAT's are hotter than my '05 ran, but there was no EGR on the '05 to heat things up. 115-130° seems normal for around town driving.

Isn't the IAT before the EGR bypass, as it comes from the intercooler?

I believe it's in the intake manifold, after the EGR.

There is also a COT (compressor outlet temp), but I haven't found the sensor for that one yet. If it's a real temp then the intercooler is plenty effective!

There is a 2019 Limited at our local dealer listed for $86+K.

1000 ft-lbs of torque doesn't come cheap. Lets hope that new design has few problems

Edit: Based on the MSRP, that truck is $86 per ft lb.

Mine was $74-75 per ft lb. Based on a 49k+ MSRP
Ansld 660 ft lb of torque

So you are saying the new trucks with 1000 lbs ft trucks are a bargain!

Not if you pay 86 grand for it. If you do, you pay $11-12 more per foot pound. But for bragging rights, some will pay anything.

But seven model years later!!!!! And only 13.5% more. Inflation rate from 2013 to 2019 was 8.51%, so now RAM wants to make a little more on their trucks.

Not that the price of new trucks is not absurd, they are, but there are a lot of new gizmos for '19, like the Trailer Tech Group, and Safety Group. I don't think the jump from '18 to '19 is that enormous, IF you can find equal equipment. It's pretty comical that they price the Trailer Tech Group at what seems like a fairly reasonable number, but when you select it it forces you into another much more costly option package.

I don't think I will be buying a new one anytime soon. I will wait for a deal like AH64ID!

I think what I did buying a 2015 in Sept of 2015 is the way to go. They had it advertised for 11K+ off. It had all the feathers we wanted except the pucks and no sun roof, which I did not want. It was a great adventure to fly to Colorado and drive it home in 48 hours door to door with motel receipts for two nights!(think Monday at noon to Wednesday at noon) I installed the pucks myself. 53K and change. Window sticker was $64,595. We learn so much about the truck and it's feather right out of the gate.
