Sorry Big. If that’s 7 lugs I see on that front wheel, then that’s the total unicorn, hens teeth, light duty F250 they made for- I don’t think one full year.
It has more beef than a 150, but not much.
I get your drift though.

If I remember correctly, those 7 lug trucks had approx 2500# cargo capacity +/_ depending on configuration.

Friend of mine here at work had one of the first F250 of that style to come out. It was defiantly a '97, the exhaust out in front of the passenger side rear wheel and all.

He drove it until just a few years ago when he could no longer repair the rust.

F-250 (1997-1998)[edit]
#ad

1997-1998 Ford F-250 XLT SuperCab
At its January 1996 launch, the 1997 PN96 F-Series was only offered as a F-150; the F-250 and F-350 were produced as 1996 models on the previous-generation chassis. To bridge the gap between the F-150 and the heavier-duty pickups, a PN96 version of the F-250 was introduced nearly a year later (though also a 1997 model), slotted between the F-150 and the F-250HD of the previous-generation chassis. While nearly externally indentical to the F-150, the F-250 gained increased load capability from a heavy-duty rear axle and load-leveling rear suspension; the F-250 was distinguished by 7-bolt wheel rims.

The PN-96 F-250 was marketed in 1997 and 1998, with Ford offering two generations of the vehicle under the same nameplate. For 1999, the F-250HD and F-350 were replaced by the Super Duty F-Series; the suspension components of the PN-96 F-250 continued as a "7700" option package from 2000 to 2003.

IC you spotted that too. I happen to have 1 of these trucks. I plow snow with it now. They rebadged the LD250 as a F150 7700 cause the LD moniker had dismal sales but the F150 7700 sold better. I liked the truck, but I understood it's limits. I did haul over a ton in the bed on occasion, handled that quite well.

The really sad part to this is that crap like this is on the road endangering lives of others. Im saying this with some reservations, there needs to be better control of whats on the road not only in its ability to preform its intended use but HOW ITS USED. Since moving to IN I have seen more objects falling out of pickups & trailers, Boxsprings & Mattress seems to be the biggest culprits jumping out followed closely by refrigerators, washer, dryers, stoves, BBQ's with little or NOTHING keeping them tied down.
