1999 Cummins 160k miles. DTT transmission is acting up. They have been out of business for some time. Does anybody know if someone who can help me? I have some questions etc. is Bill Kondolay still around and if so, can I get contact information for him? Who’s working on them now?

List your issues and where your at for recommendations. There's a guy here in Phoenix that was a DTT installer but depending on where your at would determine how far you want to drive.

I’m in Alaska. Truck runs and shifts great. But in 4 th gear driving along at a steady speed in will stumble maybe 50 rpm or less. You can see it on the tach and feel it seat of pants. Might not be a transmission problem. Could be apps or maybe a fuel issue but I have good pressure and filter is fairly new.

Did you have someone check for codes. Most auto parts stores will do that for you. SnoKing

Doesn't sound like a trans problem. Any mods to the truck ?. I had a fueling box do the same thing. Maybe others will chime in so the more info the better.

Lots of mods edge. Rasp I’m thinking I have connector on the hosing loose somewhere and it’s sucking air somewhere. Two blue clues I smell diesel when I walk by in the garage. But floor is clean and it used to fire as soon as you hit the key. Now it’s cranks a bit more to start. A little air getting in the fuel system. Im checking connectors all in them I’m the am

You can route a clear line for the output of the fuel filter to a container, bump the starter and see if you see air bubbles in the line.

I get no check engine light

I believe that vintage RAM can have codes without a check engine light. I do not recall my 2001.5 24V turned on the check engine light, I was having a couple cases of dear pedal, and when checked for codes I had the dreaded P0216 VP44 death code. My DTT transmission caused a few other codes, and never a check engine light.

Just a FYI my fueling box was/is also an edge, wound up buying another one and that was the same exact problem I had. Checking all fuel fittings is still a good idea.

I disconnected my edge box. It still does it. But the power loss was amazing and the drive ability sucked also. Just not the same truck

More info to chew on. I think it might not be the transmission at all but? Ok I have unbolted

the apps and checked the voltage on the tag .492. When I check voltage at pcm connector 1-#23 orange wire dark blue tracer key on not running I get .343 so does this mean the apps is bad ?

Bingo. I have 4 th gear hunting. I think. I have a DTT valve body and torque converter. Smart controller and Lock up and a DTT noise filter. To stop this. And BD exhaust brake. Alternator was rebuilt at 140 k. Now to find a fix. I still wonder if those differences in voltage apps is a problem ..

Ok I wrapped the wire from the alternator to the passenger side battery neutral connection. Did considerable test driving and 4 th gear hunting has stopped. .25 worth of aluminum foil. Just amazing
