Could you please make a recommendation for a new horn for my truck. I would like to find something close to the horns they use on a semi. The louder the better.

I would like to find one that runs on 12 volts not an air.

Thanks

I like Bully Dog air horn kit. Removed it off my former 09 Ram 4500, but haven't installed into my 2017 Ram 5500 yet. I wired an in cab cutoff switch when I don't want to freak folks out. Mine came with a small storage tank and coiled filler hose for small air filler jobs. Doubt I fit would fill a tire though.

Bought mine on ebay, but Amazon may have them too.

Cheers, Ron

Paging members mwilson and Ozymandias. I know they were working on a neat compressor setup for their air ride seats. You can adapt that to almost any air horn kit

Mike installed a Viair system like the one I have. Build to 150-170psi 100% duty cycle, can run a 1/2" impact, great system
I'm looking at Amazon right now for the onboard Viair Syatem. Anxious to hear more before I pull the trigger. I want to continuous duty compressor I can fill 126PSI on RV and 90PSI on my truck.

Cheers,

Ron

Dave, thanks. That's the one I was looking at. Just bought it. I'm going to be busy when I finish my recovery.
Anticipation, staring at it while recovering should speed up that process. I have had mine probably around 10 years now and it sure is nice not having to look for a decent air source somewhere. I only recently tried the Craftsman 1/2" impact and it worked flawlessly. The die grinder has problems with it tho. Contemplating adding a 5 gallon added tank with the existing for things like that.

Another Viair testament today. I wanted to remove the last remaining RV tire and have Discount Tire inspect it for the upcoming 4k round trip coming up. The tire I wanted off is under the 16' slide. I went under there with a 4 way bar and could not loosen 1 lug nut as leverage was at a minimum and they were torqued to 120lbft. Fired up the Viair and impact which easily took off all 6 lug nuts. I am so glad I put that system on. Wrestling the tire out from under the slide was another story. After getting it out I noticed sidewall cracking near the rim so no need for Discounts inspection, it's toast.

Got Viair Continuous Duty System today. Amazon $310 and free shipping. We are truly blessed in America!

I may post pics of install in a couple months. Gonna tie in my Hadley Bully Dog Air Horns at that time too.

Cheers, Ron

I install the 4 note 4 horn electric setup from early Cadillacs into all my pickups.

It's about a 10 minute install for all 4, just Y each factory horn wire and put 4 appropriate connectors on.

The best sound on a Cummins pickup truck comes from mounting 2 horns on each side of the rad support :)

Man, that is the sweetest sounding horn I ever heard. Still putting air horn on my 5500. because I already have it, but I would like that on my Jeep and my wife's truck.

Just bought a set on Ebay. Gonna put em on my Jeep. Wife said stay away from her truck.

Thanks!

Hi, yup they're great setups.

Even a short blip of the horn pad gets someone's attention; a 5 second blast can be unnerving to distracted text obsessed drivers around you.

I don't have part #s, they're older US made Delco horns with the individual musical note stamped into each housing.

Mine said "stay away from her Jeep unless it needs to be fueled up"

Yep, I'm allowed to add fuel, put air in the tires and perform normal maintenance on her truck, nothing else. She won't even let me install a CB in it, can you believe it? o_O

Cheers, Ron

Heh, you jinxed me.

The Jeep's gas tank was full, but I had to change to summer wipers front/rear, the Denso plugs, Mopar air filter, Mopar PCV valve, Mopar tensioner/Conti belt, Amsoil 5w30/Mopar oil filter, Mopar ATF+4/both Mopar transmission filters/NOS reusable pan gasket, transfer case with Amsoil ATF with 2 new Mopar hex plugs, and both diffs with Severe Gear 75w90/FelPro diff gaskets.

At least I got a case of beer as a reward for the parts/install; now it's time to go check on the brisket that's been smoking since 08:00hrs.

are you running 5w30 in a JK? I've been considering it.

My maintenance and technology prowess give me job security. I'm tasked a lot.
