Bad OHV Publicity In Wickenburg, AZ

Yup. Gotta get back on! I’ll never forget probably my first bike repair. I left the front wheel loose. Yup, it came out from under the fork. Outcome wasn’t good. Lol.

Yea, we have all had stuff like that happen. Mine was coming down nose first off a jump on my BMX.

For better or worse, she fell almost exactly 1/2 way in to the trip. She didn't have a opportunity to give up. It was just as far to go back as it was to keep going. My only negative about the part of the trail we were on today is that if God forbid someone would actually get hurt, there is nothing around. The ride was mostly through state game lands.

By the end, she was moving along like nothing happened. If all goes well, going to do 10 miles or so in the morning.

Thanks. I think her pride hurts more than anything. I told her that there are only 2 types of bike riders......those that have fallen and those that will. This was her first big spill and it took her by surprise more than anything I think.
It's a badge of honor to go over the bars... it means you're pushing yourself. The only thing that matters is that she learns from it; what she did wrong, how to avoid it, and learning the most important thing about going down, how to land and walk (or ride) away.

Seeing double?

I picked up another Trek this morning. It's a small frame version of the same model I have. It's a leftover 2018, so we got a really good deal on it. My wife picked it out for herself and since she and my daughter are the same size, it will work for either of them.

What's that saying I've heard about a slippery slope.... :D You guys are in it! Good for you.

How old is your youngest? Im guessing the rides are a little much for her to be on her own bike.
When the boys were little, I'm talking little, we both had the carrier's that mounted to the back of the bike and they sat in a little seat above the tire. Took a little getting used to that extra mass back there flopping around, and vice versa when they got old enough to be on their own bikes.

Kinda off topic, but we have had our niece here visiting from Arizona for the summer. She is now 7 but was born here and the wife watched her ALOT up until they moved 2 summers ago so we got pretty attached to her. She's spent the last several weekends with us, I forgot what it's like having little ones around again. Makes us both miss the days when ours were that age.

My youngest is 4. She can take short rides with us on her little bike, but could never keep up going the distances we want to go.

I had both my wife and oldest daughter with me today. Now I need to get one of those pull behind trailers so we can bring our little one.

That’s excellent, and I’m a bit jealous. My Wife grew up on what’s basically a very busy county road. She won’t get on a bike for a sack of gold. I don’t think she’s ever ridden one. Really enjoy that she rides!
The trailer? Yup I tried that. The dually looking stroller one with the 20” wheels. It was nice, but with both of them in there, they’d fight as soon as I got a pace going.
What I DO like, and I’ve only seen them in use, but never for sale, is that tow behind frame minus fork. It has the long tube and flex joint that hooks onto your seat stem. That might be perfect for the lil one.

I've never seen those. I'll have to look them up.

I've found a few kid trailers on Craigslist. But like anything else, the people never call or email back when you leave a message. I'm not sure why people post ads but never reply.

Me being a cheapskate, I tried to make one. I took a 16” bike not used anymore, removed the fork, made and welded the strut on. I used a 1/2” drive universal and welded that to a bracket I made for the top tube of my bike. It kinda worked, but I never nailed the geometry.
