I have a 2017 Ram 3500....I heard that one should change the DEF filter at some point as unwanted particles could get into your exhaust system if it is not changed....no where in my Ram owner's manual does it state when to change this filter.
So, does anyone know : a) do the newer ram trucks even have a DEF filter? b) If so, where is it located?

Thx.

I am not aware of a DEF filter. Maybe the Ram 4500 and up have a filter, but not the Ram 2500-3500 models?

As I understand it, C&C trucks have replaceable filters, pickups just have a screen/filter of some sort on the pickup of the DEF pump. Not intended to be a maintenance item.

Many heavy duty construction and class 8 trucks have serviceable DEF filters. Perhaps that’s the cause for confusion?

Not that I’m interested in modding my ‘18 like I did my ‘05, but are there aftermarket DEF filters?
