There are other factors here in play:
1. They weren't selling anywhere near what Cummins needed to breakeven.
2. Cummins has inked a deal with Isuzu to explore collaboration on vehicle engines &
powertrains. Question: Will the 5.0 make it's way into Isuzu vehicles with a Isuzu
badge? Stay tuned .....
3. My nephews Titan w/5.0 decided to play hand grenade and left it's guts on the
highway with 21K on the ODO. New engine replaced under warranty.
4. Historical fact ... Every V8 Cummins has ever built has been less than stellar, V504,
V555(the Triple Nickel, which suffered from a 25%+ warranty failure rate) and the
V903. Is the 5.0 to suffer the same fate? Stay tuned ....
