I am thinking about getting service manual since, I will be doing maintenance on 2019 for next five years and of course wiring manual as well, what you think besides crazy.

Why would this be crazy?

That said, I haven't checked, but I wonder if the 2019 manuals are even available yet? It seems like I had my 2015 for about a year before the manual was available.

why is it crazy? Spending the money for the manuals is smart. Plus, would be kind of nice to have a reference of torque specs as well as documentation for other procedures that you might need to do after the warranty expires.

While I haven't bought it yet, it is certainly on my short-list. Sometimes it is tough to spend the $150 bucks (or thereabouts, I guess) for manuals, but I always try to think about how much money it saves by doing things on your own. Same for maintenance. I just spent an actual $60 on an oil and filter change....how much does that actually cost at a dealer? $150? So, buy the manual and don't look back. No different than buying any other tool, really. I've justified a few Snap-on ratchets in the same way. :D

Not that I could find. To clarify, it DID say that there was wiring info pertinent to troubleshooting codes, probably wire colors and pin locations, but no full schematic. https://www.techauthority.com/en-us/products/81-370-19077-SUSB

I don't know what you get with an on-line subscription, but I'd have to do the day rate.

Well that stinks. Have these things gotten so sophisticated that wiring diagrams are not feasible ?, or is it a money grab that forces you to take it to a dealer ?.

I got both service and wiring for my 2017 Ram 5500. Its a better deal purchasing both at the same time. They used to come together, but sadly they figured out they could charge more separately. Although I miss the paper wiring diagrams, the thumb drive let's you expand and enlarge them.

I logged in to my Tech Authority account and could not see 2019 yet but did have for 2018. It may take a while before available.

Cheers, Ron

I've almost pulled the trigger on this a few times but am afraid I'll be disappointed based on the reviews on here. Of course I haven't had a real need yet so when I do this reluctant feet dragging will all be out the window :(

Here's the last set of manuals I bought for less than $100. I'd pay GOOD money for a manual like this.

If you're on the fence, let me give you a tug... go for it. They are better than nothing and worst case give you an idea on troubleshooting and function. I'd buy mine again in a heartbeat.

Looking at Tech Authority anyone know what you get under those Training Manuals, they are only $28 a piece and have some pretty specific topics, just not sure what they cover, it appears to be what you need for the training class, but could it be used without the class for anything?

Not sure this will link thru as it looks menu driven;

General description of these;
Today, more than ever, it is vital for technicians to keep up with the increasing complexities of modern, rapidly changing vehicle technology. These detailed training materials help technicians do just that. The training material may be in a Computer Based Training (CBT), workbook format, or both depending on the specific item selected

It is worth it. Too bad you couldn't get the wiring diagrams at the same time, though. The package deal saves a lot of money.

The service manual on CD/USB contains the same information that was in the printed manuals and PDFs from older years. It is very useful. The new browser-based format stinks in comparison to the old but it is he best we can get I guess. Lack of search and lack of an index can make it difficult at times. If you know what you are looking for and where to find it, no problem. If not, you might be there a while. Also, it only works in Windows because it uses ActiveX, which is a Windows browser thing (unless they changed something recently).

The new wiring diagram manual is in many ways an improvement over the old. The isometric (?) diagrams showing the locations of connectors and the routing of harnesses is pretty nice. The wiring diagrams work on a Mac or Windows (unless they changed something recently).

It's too bad they don't offer them like my Can Am service manual is in Adobe format. Being able to access it on my phone or a tablet in the garage or on the road or trail is a great feature.

Used to be that format: PDF. I thought about "printing" it to PDF but there are many hundreds of pages the way it is formatted now (a page might be just a single sentence) and it is pretty much one page at a time to turn it into a PDF.

I purchased the disc from tech authority for my 2017 2500. It did not include any wiring diagrams. I then went ALLDATAdiy.com, subscribed to their service. I get the same information that is on the disc from tech authority plus wiring diagrams for the entire vehicle.

When I bought the CD for the 2016 - no wiring diagrams were available. Now it appears they are:
https://www.techauthority.com/en-us/products/81-370-16076-WUSB

However, it states at the bottom of the page - "IT DOES NOT CONTAIN THE TRADITIONAL WIRING DIAGRAM INFORMATION..." So, is it or isn't it the real wiring diagrams?

I saw that too, I assume it is just an oversight and they just used the canned language from the Service Manual version. Again, I assume.

The 2015 version of the wiring diagrams has the same kinds of diagrams found in the old printed manuals and PDFs. In addition to that, it has "location views" that show where the connectors are and the routing of the harnesses. I assume the 2016+ wiring diagrams are the same. That stuff at the bottom of the page is for the service manuals, not the wiring diagrams.
