Hi guys, I have a brand new 2019 Ram 3500 SRW LB 4WD standard output diesel Limited on order. The dealer offers a ‘limited lifetime power train warranty’ on engine and transmission and drive axle parts. Plus they are trying to sell me an extended warranty (EW). Can you experienced folks out there please weigh in on whether you think I should buy the EW? If so when should I buy it, at the time of delivery or just before the factory warranty expires? If you think I should buy one, which one should I buy? My thinking is that the factory covers the drivetrain to 100,000 miles or five years. The dealership in theory covers drivetrain and powertrain for as long as I own the vehicle, however it is not transferable if I sell the truck. What I’m concerned with is all the electronics and other bumper to bumper stuff that could go wrong after the factory warranty expires. I Buy my vehicles brand new and tend to keep them for about a decade. Thanks for the help and insight folks!
