For your Throttle problem, you might search for the measurement that is needed in the linkage. If its to loose you'll have these symptoms. The end sockets have a tendency to ware and gets out of adjustment. I believe Genos garage has some of these parts now.
I have found that the batteries need a good charge/connections to pull the solenoid up to start also. Its just a group of things that need to be maintained.

All new linkage, return spring, accelerator cable adjusted exactly to service manual spec (5"), no binding. New batteries last week.

Accelerator pedal cable recall #460.
The mod covered the cable beyond where it went into the cable sheth and eliminated the bare cable and the broken cable ends that would bind. Also there was new part of the bell crank that was included. A dealer might do the recall if they can get the parts.
Sounds like you need to inspect all the linkage and get it in to spec.

Ok guys, I think I may have found the problem...staving for fuel perhaps.

While working on my TPS issue today (wire harness) I happened to be looking at the back of the engine (fuel lines). My emergency fuel line rubber hose appears kinked. Enough that Im almost sure it is choking off fuel flow. folded over almost flat.
Im pretty sure it was a steel line there that was leaking and I had to due a quick "get it running" repair that I forgot to get back to.

I did not have enough in me today to tear into that, but I think it gives me a good indicator of the problem to pursue.

I will keep you posted.

Yep, but I am paying the price for it. Hard for this old guy to keep climbing around on my old truck :)
Yeah, tell me about it. 65 years old, 39 radiation treatments and just had the last lupron shot. Rotated the Wife's tires and checked brakes, spent the rest of the day in recovery (couch potatoe) ooooohing and aaaaaaahing with pain and energy in the basement.
