Everyone up here is expecting a lot of snow with how wet it has been all summer. Highs by the end of the week expected to be in the mid 40's, lows in the low to mid 30's. Looks like I may have to turn on the tank and drain pipe heaters . We were planning on leaving on the 1st and I strung it out to the 7th. Might have to rethink that one. Suppose to have showers for 4 days in a row starting on Saturday..

Last year I just used the tractor pulling a chain drag harrow with a tractor rear tire chained to it. It left enough snow on the gravel drive to get traction & break up the ice below. We don't get a horrendous amount of snow, been here 3 winters the most at one time has only been 10 inches pond is getting ice forming

Pond hockey for Christmas ? Now you’re talking.

I've seen folks out on frozen retainment ponds I'm not buying it, Ive also rounded a corner and was stopped by sheriff deputies because the EMS were fishing around for the body that fell through. It gets cold here but NOT THAT COLD the day to day temperature swings ANYTIME of the year are MASSIVE. That being said my Amish Pard told me that our pond is not a manmade retainment pond its natural so the water temp is much lower , I'LL TAKE HIS WORD FOR IT & STAY OFF OF IT.

8 above here at 6am. Wind 15G25 all day. It’s all the way up to 15 now. All this is on top of 3/8ths of an inch of ice from a freezing rain storm 2 days ago. It took about 45 minutes to clear the machine windows Tuesday am. All the pine regeneration we’re trying to encourage is bent over and susceptible to breakage with the ice still encasing it. Im going in tomorrow and see if I can amount to something.
