This is the best documentation I could find.

Not a lot of info on that fluid, but I did read that it’s conventional.

That’s the funny thing about this spec, it’s not new. T-IV/JWS3309 dates back to the early ‘90’s. That’s the reason it’s difficult to find, most manufacturers that were using it have moved away from it to more modern fluids. It’s also part of the reason the OCI is so short on the AISIN vs the 68RFE.
Summit Racing shows the "Aisin ATF-0T4" is synthetic. ????????

I have been following this out of curiosity until today. Seem's that is the same fluid that Toyota states to use in the wife's 05 Sienna. Does not state Aisin but does state type T-IV. Toyota also states no service needed for 100k. It is listed on rockauto site under 05 Toyota, transmission fluid and the info lists all the compatible OEM numbers. Of course Toyota wants you to get your fluid from them.

OP was Aisin at $4.38 per quart. This also may not or may not include shipping most likely lots of stuff on Rock Auto does not.

Lowest I have been able to pick up ATF+4 was $6.32 in gallon jugs.

ATF+4 $9 a quart at local store when I get stuck getting local

I have not been able to pick it up cheaper anyway. Same for the Mercon VI or IV what ever it is, stuff about the same as ATF+4 pricing, I use that in my niece's Focus.

Yes it's synthetic, yes it the same that mopar sells, licensed and owned by mopar.
You can pay exuberant prices for synthetic or shop and get the same formula for less price, and I'm not speaking of just ATF+4.

I see that for the ATF+4. Sounds good.

I also see the Mercon stuff is around what I'm more familiar with. (in that brand as well), I'm used to the $6 range for this stuff per qt.

I'm not brand loyal when it comes to oils but I prefer ones that have the data sheet where you can see the numbers to check against the standard fluids. Just to.be sure.

Good price on the ATF+4, standard price on the DEX/Mercon, which a lot of built trans run the DEX over the ATF+4.

I'm sure there are sales and rebates have to keep an eye out for sure. No need to over pay. Thanks for the link.
