NOT trying to convince anyone of anything. I am just showing in WORDS what they say.

PLEASE show where I have tried to sway anyone. Giving info is what I thought we are all about?????

You are attempting to make a case against 5w40, when there is absolutely no reason to.

I think many here never see below the magical "0" number and run the 5-40 when 15-40 SYNTHETIC is available and in words CUMMINS says is preferred.

See, there you go again. It doesn't matter if you think some never see below 0, many do and........you don't HAVE to see below 0 to use 5W40...did you see the chart? Ram says its good at ALL temperatures!

The 15-40 "IS" relevant as the spec I showed that you did NOT comment on mentions SYNTHETIC 15-40 CES 20081.

Which spec did you show me? CES 20081 does not specify "synthetic". The Rotella that the manual is recommending is NOT synthetic, yet it meets the CES 20081. The conventional 15W40 that Ram is recommending has a higher pour point than your Amsoil that you keep bringing up, therefore, you cannot use the 3 or 5* pour point comparison to support what the manual says.

I am "touting" the 15-40 and so is CUMMINS! CES 20081

You are touting Amsoil 15W40, which has better specs than what the manual recommends. Oils meeting CES 20081 can be synthetic or conventional.

If one could simply go to Walmart and grab a gallon of Amsoil 15W40 for $21, you'd have a reason to preach your precious oil, but since Amsoil is considerably more expensive, considerably more difficult to obtain, and Rotella T6 5W40 meets and exceeds the requirement......there is no reason to try to make a case against it.

There ya go thinking again......
I pray these pictures will reiterate what I have been trying to get across......

Laramie and Cheyenne, WY March 3rd and 4th 2019. I was running an expedited run (horse trailer) from....GET THIS.....Dade City, FL to Salt Lake City, UT.

The -12*F was when I finished my 10 hour break at my motel and went to fire up my truck.

Thanks for the reply. I was NOT doubting you it was simply a question. When I said many people you were NOT included in my thoughts.

I figured. Why say something like that?

I really don’t care but I can guarantee your type of post that has zero info or purpose is driving those away that lurk trying to decide if it’s worth paying for this!
How's this... I just saw a case (6 gals.) Of Rotella 15-40 at Sam's Club for 78.00

I’m having a realllllllllllllllllly, realllllllllly hard time believing this.

No reason to lie.

I posted "I think many here never see below the magical "0" number" That is a statement I "THINK" is probably true.

THEN I went on to in a separate paragraph ask you a sincere question.

I asked YOU the question because in your business you travel all over the Country as you have posted in other threads.

Well, I can say that I learned there is a "diesel supplemental manual" available to me online that shows that temperature range chart.

Pretty near every engine I've ever owned has had a book with that chart. These past 7 months that I've had my truck, I've been quite annoyed my manual didn't have the chart. Cool.....

To me......there’s just a certain, minute degree of snarkiness intermingled with just a smidge of sarcasm when I read your question...... :p

we certainly have snarki banter at times and sarcasm, just not this time. I was trying to be specific with my question.

Anywayz have a good evening.

You don't even have the Diesel supplement? Sheesh! No wonder you don't get it.

Oh and....the page is clearly visible in my picture. I even made sure to make it full screen for you.... but I guess that doesn't help if you don't have the proper manual for your truck.
