Thanks, TDR Staff

Look what I found on the side of the road!!

9/11

....to replace/upgrade from my little NAA .22WMR 5-shot revolver.
Their P-380 is $150-200 more expensive than their CW380.

I like my CW9, A LOT, but even that Gun is a little bit bulky for the warm-weather clothes we use in Texas, so, I like the familiarity.
Any of you shot the two side-by-side to confirm whether that price differential is reasonable or a little more than necessary?

Its a very popular gun in CA because its the smallest 380 on the communistic anti-US Constitution CA registery. I've read that it can sensitive to certain types of ammo but anyone I know who has one has nothing but good things to say about it. I'm even thinking of picking one up too...

ALL AUTOS can have problems with ammo feeding especially hollow points, send it to a reputable gun shop like. https://cylinder-slide.com/Category/CP114 They have always been a GREAT choice for my autos reliability issues. I also send them my Revolvers to work on triggers. Ive been carrying revolvers more for my Carry because Revolvers DO NOT FAIL, EVER!! ammo might!! but that just requires another trigger pull, can't do that with ANY auto that I know of.

My Newest CCW acquisition :D

I've also been thinking about the S&W 38 Bodyguard revolver. Its small enough to carry comfortably but its two rounds less that the Kahr 380.

I carry a S&W 642 as a back-up when going into Indy or in my pocket when I'm just running into Greencastle for some project supplies. If you believe or follow FBI stat's in a confrontation where a gun is used there are less than 3 shots taken at VERY CLOSE range. So do you really need the latest mega-capicity nut-buster? IMO if you think you do PRACTICE MORE!!

Ammo has really gone under a massive performance growth. In my 642 Hornady Critical Defense 110 gr +P

Hard to beat this package IMO for summertime heat CCW

Its not about having a mega-capicity nut-buster but rather having enough rounds to actually do something. How many people have ever needed to use their gun in a defense situation? Hopefully that number very is low...but I'm going to assume most never have. That means that even if you're at the gun range weekly, if you ever need to use your CCW in self defense then its going to be an extremely emotional panic stricken moment where fight or flight will take control and your odds of even hitting the perpetrator is going to be low.

And taking that analogy even further... My gun is the absolute last resort option for me escaping a really really bad situation. Which means that I'm not going to draw unless I have ZERO other options, an I mean ZERO!!! That also means that the person I'm defending myself against is either really persistent at trying to cause me bodily harm or is on some really bad drugs...or both. So hopefully I wont need to ever shoot my gun in such situations, but if I do then I may need more than a few shots...

If this wasnt the truth for just about everyone with a CCW then we'd all be carrying around a tiny Darenger 22 short.

BEFORE WE GET INTO THIS IM GOING TO SAY IM NOT!!! THE ALL KNOWING AUTHORITY ON THIS SUBJECT LIKE THE VIDEO BELOW " THIS IS WHAT WORKS BEST FOR ME"

This guy brings good points to the table, I don't buy them all. Ive been searching his extensive youtube list to find a video thats perfect for this discussion, I will continue to search for it.

I have many Autos and have over the years carried pretty much all of them at one time or another, have attended most of the handgun courses from the other link AGAIN THIS IN NO WAY MAKES ME ANY BETTER THAN YOU OR THE NEXT GUY.

Being where I live with the ability to walk out the door and start shooting and wherewithal financially afford to shoot SEVERAL HUNDRED ROUNDS minimum through each gun I choose to shoot that day, we can drop going to the range to "SHOOT WEEKLY" AND ADD ALMOST DAILY!!

Ive experienced the fight OR flight Moment and Have had to defend myself albeit in a more controlled setting. Controlled because they started shooting first!! I can attest that Adrenaline is a more powerful high than ANY DRUG used to date, but YET IM STILL HERE!!! JUST HALF A LEG SHORT OF BEING ALL HERE :D

I’ve been seriously considering an LCR in 327 for my wife. It’ll let her practice with 32 long ammo so it doesn’t beat her up. Are you as happy as you hoped you’d be with yours?

The new pistol is a 357 mag, I don't know yet its was on order when we left Indiana. I was called by the store telling me it had arrived. I have shot the same model that a Deputy Sheriff at home has and I liked it VERY MUCH!! The S&W Performance center Model 19 is a 3" barrel with full house 357 mag loads one would think it has some VERY SPICEY RECOIL with the barrel porting its extremely less, something like a stout 38 special load.

About a month ago I bought CZ 75 Compact 9mm awesome gun no frills but really reliable with all kinds of ammo I don't think that Ill ever CCW a 1911 again. Ive got A Sig 226 Legion 9mm SA/DA and the CZ 75 another SA/DA IMO so much better for carry its a revolver first shot auto there after

That CZ is a nice piece. I don't have one, but I have fired one a few times. It reminds me very much of the old Walther PPK's.

Do you have any striker fired autos? I just transitioned to a polymer striker fired 9 for my everyday carry. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do.
