Glamping what the heck is that

Renegade, Dynamax, and Haulmark have great Super Cs on Freightliner platforms, but the same problems arise as when I was considering a Freightliner Sport Chassis RV toter... the cabs are tall and hard(er) to get in and out of. My mobility is OK, but even considering installing motorized steps on my Ram 5500 to help entry and exit. But, right now, Vivian pretty much loves the MS, so that's what we have for now.

Nice rigs though and much preferred over class A's and busses...less injury in a frontal crash in a Super C than a bus.

Agreed. But I sure enjoyed driving my living room down the road with that great big window up front. That’s about all I missed though. The cost of maintaining or repairing a Diesel Pusher was what made me switch to truck and 5er. I had to have a truck for work anyway so made sense to upgrade the truck to diesel and we love the roominess and low maintenance cost of the 5th wheel.

This is one of those issues I've made my brain hurt thinking about and it always comes back to I like the versatility, comfort, ride, access, and performance of my 5500 and I like the room, features, and quality of the MS. I imagine this is where we'll be until I reach point I can't handle the physical demands of RVing.

Wasn’t sure if I should post this here or the bbq thread... so both

Test run of the Traeger Ranger on the inverter. It works perfect. Draws about 20A for 4 minutes then down to 1.9-3.5 depending on if the auger is running. I can smoke for many many hours at that amp draw.

Me too, first here. One of my RV buddies has the Ranger, invited us to their campsite for ribs cooked on it, and WOW, the ribs were fantastic. So, I decided I wanted one too and that's when I found my Traeger Tailgator. Had to measure to make sure it would fit in the basement of the RV and it did.

There are DEFINITELY some great cooking products for RVing and I gave my SIL my portable gas grill.

Me too, first here. One of my RV buddies has the Ranger, invited us to their campsite for ribs cooked on it, and WOW, the ribs were fantastic. So, I decided I wanted one too and that's when I found my Traeger Tailgator. Had to measure to make sure it would fit in the basement of the RV and it did.

I don’t have quite enough room for the tailgator in my 5th wheel. The Ranger fits great in the bow storage thou.

Sorry, I have PTSD and memory issues. Not from military, but about a 10ft fall onto concrete Dec 2017, bad concussion. A little more hit on my head and wouldn't be here and a little more on my hip, and it woulda been broke. Sad sometimes I lay something down and its days before i find it.

Hey Ron you do not have to had PTSD to have memory issues. I have them sometimes like yesterday, I was finishing up building my cabinet to hold some of my wood working tools. I removed my quick connect chuck from the drill and set it down. When I went to grab the chuck, I could not remember where I put it. I spent 20 minutes looking for it, I finally found it.

This just seems to happen more and more as we age. My boys laugh at me when I insist that when your done with a tool you put it away in its proper place. Even if you’re going to use this same tool in 15 to 20 min’s later. At least this way I can find the tool when I need it. But I sometimes do not follow my own advice.

Glad it's not just me. Headed for 66 on 4/27 and it just gets worse. I wonder if those memory pills they sell really work. Sometimes it takes longer to find something than it takes to do the job.

Had the old man thing going on before the concussion... just worse now. Put my eyeglasses outside the sauna this morning, got out, showered, got dressed, couldn't find them, went out and looked on the little table outside the sauna, and didnt see them. After about an hour of frustration, Vivian brought them to me and said the were on the little table. So, did I imagine checking the table three times OR were my glasses invisible on the table. I have the world's foremost collection of Robertson #2 screwdriver bits.

Every time I misplace one I buy a new one cause I need it.
I currently have 1 drawer in my toolbox dedicated to Robertson #2 Screw bits! LOL

I have discovered, however, in past, that my wife is responsible many times for my misplaced tools.
The house is always spotless but her organization lacks.
One day I discovered my hammer in the Tea towel drawer in the kitchen.
I ask her many times when I'm missing something if she's seen it and she always says no.
Then I find what I was looking for in the most in-obvious place.

I don't feel it's always an age thing. Sometimes there are forces working against us!

Besides, my wife would be dangerous with tools....The job would be bigger fixing what she messed up. Ask me how I know...scary!

I didn't ask my wife, the toolset was a GIFT. She like girlie stuff, but she likes guy stuff too. She doesn't do too bad with it, but she doesn't hesitate to call on me.

My wife will not even touch my tools at all. She does have her own scroll saw and some screw drivers plus one little hammer a about a 6OZ size. She has claimed if she needs something, she will get me to do the rest. Her dad taught her well.

The scroll saw is for her crafts that she does in her craft room, such as wine coasters or a wine style cork board. But anything else she will call on me or one of the boys to do the job.

I should probably mention my wife is a retired Wildlife Biologist who work for USDA Animal Damage Control. She shot coyotes and wild hogs from a helicopter, and controlled wildlife at civil and military airfields. She was like 1% female in a male dominated career field. She shoots better than me, but does appreciate though that I'm better at measuring and tackling mechanical and electrical things. Sometimes, I have to let HER figure out it's best for me to do something. She a lot of fun and oh BTW, we're both type A's: I'll tell you she's more than me and she'll tell you I'm more than her, but the truth be told, we compete for the title. Makes for an interesting and FUN life.
