No Start

I started my truck this morning and moved it and shut it off. 10 minutes later I tried to start it and nothing. Everything lights up on the dash and when I turn the key to start everything dims as in there is a drain on the batteries but nothing. No click, no groan, no whine. Nothing. I was thinking the first thing I would do is check the connection at the starter.

Check the batterys, if everything dims then you don't have a sufficient charge.

X 2 on the Batteries, may have at least one shorted cell. The charger I have will try to charge but if unsuccessful in a period of time will light up the bad battery light.

Nope, the batteries check out strong with clean and tight terminal ends. No weak cells.

Try tapping on the starter at the solenoid part, just in back of the wire connections. Use to be an old trick when the solenoid contacts go bad. If that fixes it you for sure need the heavy duty contacts. Just had the same condition on the Wife's Toyota, I beat the hell out of that thing with the wooden end of a hammer.

How many volts you measured?
By hand on both batterys.

The Clutch safety switch was broken. repairing it now.

More importantly, cranking amps. And as I said my batteries check out good. That's why I looked elsewhere and found the clutch safety switch hanging off the shaft. It's back on and working.
