I managed to separate the two halves of the filter housing and remove the inner filter component fiber - then reassemble the two halves - and reinstall under the valve cover.
Just my preference to merely destroying the filter housing or running without any housing at all under the valve cover.
The newer (or better condition) the filter is - the more it has to be soaked in some sort of solvent to get the inner filter component fiber to come apart without damaging the plastic housing!

comrade - x2 - why? cheers! :)

Why is correct, Why................

But then who takes a mechanic with broken Snap-On tools serious? I mean look at his pry bar with a broken handle..... It's a pry bar, If ya need to whack it that hard then just get the right bar for the job plus...... If he was smart he'd know all he has to do is hand it to his dealer and get a free replacement (grinding/drilling/filing tools not covered).

Maybe this is something the delete guys do but I see no purposeful benefit other than having your rig smell like some old farm tractor from the 50's.

The reason to delete - is because the blow-by smoke & oil residue that is sucked into the turbo - gunks up the turbo blades and often causes premature failure of the turbo. When the hose from the turbo (purposely plugged) to the valve cover is re-routed - the filter must be removed so the blow-by can escape on its own pressure.

You guy are being so rude. R.Tayler you're a POS. should be ashamed of yourselves. what has become of the forum, This guy shares his own person doings on his truck and ya'll treat him like this? WTF? everyone of you who did this needs some missing teeth.

If your reason is to save the turbo! Are you going to delete the EGR system all together such as the cooler and crossover tube to the air horn? Are you going to change out the turbo to remove the exhaust brake feature since very, very dirty exhaust gas is driving the turbo!

If the engine has that much blow by there are other issues at hand. I’m well over 135,000 miles On. 2013 and on my 3rd CV filter. Turbo is clean. Aside from the turbo actuator failing, cracked board internally it’s all the way it left the factory. So if you are getting that much blow by that it’s making it through the Cv filter and gumming up the turbo you really have a bigger problem.

CV filter would most likely be considered part of the systems that can lead to a 10K fine for removal.

Mine is a 2012. I bought it used in December of 2019. (I have only owned it 6 months...) It had 140,000 when I bought it and now has 158,000. The truck was deleted when I bought it. I don't have the parts... I owned a 2001 5.9 Ram / Cummins and it gave me 485,000 miles pulling my trailer. I sold it and it is still running today.

It's R.Taylor not R.Tayler AND lighten up dude... Have some humor in life. Calling names and saying people need teeth knocked out is rather uncalled for. If you are even on this forum much you will see there is some creative humor / criticism often taken with a grain of salt... No Harm, No Foul. You on the other hand have worked yourself up and are angry with us.... But with a name like Killer I'd guess there's not much of a funny bone in your body.
