That's a '60 El Camino?

Yes, I bought it from my brother in the summer of 1967 when I returned from Thailand. We both wish we still had it. It had a nice 283 with cam and B/W T-10 4 speed. I replaced the 3.36 gears with 4.10's that summer while on leave before heading sound to Point Arena, Ca USCG Loran A station. Body was as straight as an arrow. Takes a nice body to look good in black, this was a 11 or 12 on a 1 to 10 scale. Traded it in on the 1967 Camaro SS/RS 350 some time later.

My Favorite Ram dealer got about 10 Night Edition trucks in where you get truck colors with the trim, wheels all black.

This also looks pretty cool.

Funny I was thinking this morning the blackout option would look good on a red or white truck and then you post a picture. I like it.

They got blue, white, silver, red, black, grey in so all look cool. They even got a couple Black Editions but it's an option for Limiteds. if I read correctly.

Cheers, Ron

I think black on black looks very sharp but I’d never, never!, own a black rig again. I’ve had 3, a 98 Ranger that was a lemon but I had just bought a canopy so I bought the same truck in a 99...whoops. And a 02 Accord we bought in Alabama at flight school. Between the PITA keeping them clean and the heat they absorb I done, black sucks. Bright white for me from now on. It may not look as good all cleaned up, but it’s much more practical.

I do like black wheels too. I had black wheels on my
‘05 but the ‘18’s will stay polished aluminum. I don’t think the black wheels will go as well with the white over silver 2 tone.

I did paint the wheels black on my TJ, which is forest green. It’s darker than I prefer but it’s a toy and it’s always dirty. I don’t run a top in the summer so the heat isn’t an issue either.

How did you like the 2003 16" wheels on our 2001 Accord EX V6?

Those look good.

I don’t recall what wheels our 02 had but it was a 4cyl auto... ugh I try to forget that whole experience

Young, dumb, and finally had a job. We needed something besides a 4Runner on 33” Super Swampers to drive around in. Oh well, ya live and learn. Price was right and we did good selling it too.

I like others had a black car and a dark red RAM never again !! White is a much easier color to deal with . Black or any dark color just drives you nuts with work to keep it looking good .

Black vehicles are sharp, if you are dedicated to keeping it shined up. I don't care for the totally blacked out look, and I really, really don't like all black wheels that make it look like an Amish buggy. Nothing against the Amish, mind you:p

I agree. I honestly don't like the white on my truck, but all the options and the price was right so here we are.. I wish it was black or Delmonico Red.

The white is ALWAYS dirty...

I wouldn't own a black or dark colored vehicle either... I live in the SW AND down a 1/4 mile long caliche road. I think the Hellcats are cool too, but wouldn't own one.

EDIT: I owned one black vehicle in my lifetime and it was a special edition 1983 Toyota pickup. It was like a mirror, so much so, people would actually touch it... only owned one other dark vehicle a 2002 Ram 3500 Forest Green Pearlcoat. No more dark vehicles, they're more than a job.

I do like the looks of this and other special edition Ram though.

Cheers, Ron

Wiredawg.....
The Black Edition Rams are nothing new and really not special. The 2015 Model Year they had a "Black Out" Edition which My Wife ordered and We picked up in late 2014 and still have yet today.39K on the odometer and it still looks as good now as it did back then.We did have it Ceramic Coated in early 2015 and the results show yet today. She does drive it often and it does see the PA Winter roads alot.It was ordered with a Mopar/BDS 6 inch Lift and 37" tires back then and now rides on 13.50/38r20's now.Not sure what Ram's big play on it is for this year but it has already been done......

BTW,My friend, careful hating on Black Rides now,I still have My very underpowered Twin Charger-Nitrous Fed 2005 Murdered Out Ram that I bought back in 09.Also,You need to sit your butt in a Hellcat and take a drive.Heck, come up and visit I'll let you wheel Mine and NO it is not Black.....LOL

Good seeing your still hanging around My Friend..............Andy

Howdy Hammer! Great seeing you on the TDR. Is the Mason Dixon TDR Chapter still going on? I miss the gang, the wrenching gatherings, and of course the cookouts.

Yep, copy on the Night Editions being out for a few years. I kinda watch inventory at my Ram dealer periodically to see what's new. I like that Ram is being competative offering special options and editions. Despite the heat down here, its surprising how many black vehicles sell.

You definitely have some nice rides there. I'd love to come back up and check y'all out... had some of the best times in Maryland area.

Check ya soon, Ron

No....
Its appears the Mason-Dixon Chapter has all disappeared along with the club funds a few years ago.I think other than Myself and Larry Willard,I do not believe that anyone else is a TDR Member anymore.I still look forward to My magazine and do stop in and look around alot, just do not post much anymore.

Plenty of time on My hands right now as I am not working due to a issue with having a stroke in early May.Still on the mend and have not been released from the doctors care so the DOT has pulled My physical card until I am released. They,DOT,will then look over the paperwork and make the determination on how long I am off work(could be 1-5 years depending on their rating of the incident). If I am told more than 1 year I have the time and will retire and enjoy life.Been trucking since 1980 and its time to let the younger drivers take over.

By all means Man,If you can get free and come up please do and again, good seeing you around My friend.......Andy

I almost went with Delmonico Red on my '19. My '05 was Deep Molten Red, and I really liked it. White won out for the ease of upkeep. I am a bit disappointed with the Pearl White Metallic, as you have to put your nose in it to see the flake.

Tom,

I agree on the Pearl White... same with my wife's truck. I only really noticed a few days ago when a new and clean F350 was sparkling in my side view mirror. I guess Fird has that color dialed in.

BTW, I really like the fact I can take my 5500 into auto car washes. We have grocery store chain that has fuel pumps and automated car washes at many locations. Only problem is bed is about a foot too long, so tail doesn't get full spray. Still, not bad for $12 for the fancy fancy wash.

Cheers, Ron
