Justin, if possible, if they’ll tell you, ask them how they evaluated the spots? I’m wondering if they use media blast or a needle scaler or etc?I will ask him when I go pick it up. Just remind me.
Looks good! I would have gladly paid $300 to fix mine. Had about half that in materials so I guess that works out about the same. The total cost out the door at the welding shop was $300. I'm very pleased with it for that price.

Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like just the sides are plated... or does it wrap around the bottom?
Looks good Justin. Now to hose plenty of Fluid Film inside.

Yes sir. Eric Smith is going to treat it for me before the bad weather hits. I am also going to start keeping an eye out for a good used rust free frame. I don't have intentions of doing a frame swap right now. But, if I can find one at a reasonable price, I'm going to buy it, put it in the barn, and save it for when/if I decide to do a full restoration on this truck. Worst case, I can sell it off to someone else in the future. I don't see this rot issue going away and the longer owners are going to try and keep this generation of truck around, the harder those parts will be to source.
