Hey. I just recently bought a 1993 Dodge Ram W250 12V Cummins and my wait to start light won’t come on. Does my truck have a grid heater or glow plugs? Does it only turn on when it’s cold out? Any response would be appreciated.
Ok thank you very much. I will wait a couple months a see what happensI think if the ambient temp is above 60deg. it wont come on.
I’m only worried about when it starts to get cold outI think if the ambient temp is above 60deg. it wont come on.
Unless you are north of the Mason-Dixon line you probably won't really need to wait to start.
i am in Canada. Come winter it will get -10cUnless you are north of the Mason-Dixon line you probably won't really need to wait to start.
Thanks so much!! My truck is a 93 so this most likely applys to mine.
When I turn my key only the abs and park brake light come on for a second before start. The wait to start light and the water in fuel light never come on.I'm not near my truck, it's been too long since a cold start, and I'm usually watching for elec pump to make oil pressure, but does that truck have any "bulb-check" function that lights all the indicators for a second or two at key-on? At least you'd know if there was an issue with the WTS indicator or if it's just not cold enough.
