I hear ya......overheard a conversation one of the home owners was having with a truck driver when we were getting weighed. He was mentioning how that he would be glad to have the $50k mortgage paid off in 5 or 6 years. Upon looking at other homes online, some of them easily approach $99k dollars. I guess he got in “cheap” as he built his from scratch, and didn’t purchase.

And just think, ya gotta crawl on hands and knees to get in the bed room and climb a ladder....I live comfy in my 42 year old park model, with twice the room, no upper deck and give $3k for it 25 years ago, I live simple

It does! Actually they are 8k axles and F or G tires. Won't be on the road much.

Had a run to Spiro, OK on Thursday for a good customer of mine that owns Arnett’s Trailers in Mt Sterling, KY.

Bottom trailer is a 27+5 dual tandem, next one is a 22+5 dual tandem, and the top one is a 14’ 14k dump trailer.

Picked up Friday, burned out 696 miles, and finished delivering today after my break. Trailers came in at 18,020 lbs per the MSO’s.

Nice haul! I've been pull'n some nice loads too for storm response TX, LA, AL, FL. Each has from 500 to 1,000 gal diesel on board. Very well made and haul well.

Just about run it's course bring'n 'em back to San Antonio.

Man that Cummins purrs when under a load.

EDIT: On my FIRST generator pull, I insisted on carrying a spare AND ended up having a blowout 90 miles into the trip. Company owner doesn't mind and gives me piece of mind. Same for trailers at home.

Had a nice, busy week this week.......had a whopping (6)five gallon buckets of soil bound for Denver, CO from Lexington, KY....but I also had a detour to Duncan, OK for six pallets of soil being returned to the home office in Denver.

Later on Thursday night, I spied a truck in Salina, KS that needed a ride to Lawrenceburg, KY. It came to fruition on Friday, and I delivered it to its new home today. This load was a whopping 14 miles round trip off the beaten path for pickup, and perhaps added about 8 miles or so for the drop off.

The truck was a brand new 2020 Ford F-150 Raptor.

I used my personal 20’ 14k deck over trailer for the entire run. I wasn’t delivering any trailers, just soil from oil & gas drilling that had already been processed at the lab.

Constructing those racks was outside of my skill set, but a guy I go to church with is quite handy with woodworking. He built them for me. Some of the pallets of soil in 2.5 gallon buckets can become sketchy, especially if the origin hasn’t stretch wrapped them well. These racks give me peace of mind and confidence while hauling. They also give me versatility as I can disassemble them, stack them on the CM flatbed, and have a “regular” trailer again.

This is the biggest, heaviest unit I've hauled. Owner asked me to assess it and only haul it if comfortable. He said my truck is the SMALLEST one to pull it. Not sure about weight, but it is a 600KW with 1000 gallon tank on the upper deck. He instructed me to not tow if it had more than 500 gallons... it had 300. This is the first one that set my truck to level. I don't know what it weighs, had folks waiting in San Antonio, so didn't stop to weigh it... truck stops in Houston backed up to the highway, so went straight to maintenance yard with it.

I believe I was within Ram recommended GVWR and GCWR.

Honestly, GS has posted GCW of almost 44KLbs. He'll have to confirm. I'm thinking I might be around 40KLbs GCW, maybe more. I'm pretty close to the end of my towing gig, so I may not get chance to find out.

Better watch out, GS is coming!
