New welder

I wonder if the sensor is just a thermal couple, manufactured by the same people who make the ones for the Dodge evaporators. I’ve had a lot of them fail! Some have failed open, some have failed intermittent, some have failed closed.

I was just overlooking your thread. Ah Thermokings....... Ask your whiz this one...... When doing a compressor seal on a sb210, you noticed endplay of the crank is slightly excessive. How do you eliminate end play. Also which unit had a condenser rub through problem? Bullentin number? Sorry to hi jack kinda.

In 2004 there was a problem with the new style SB top cap rubbing on the condenser coil.

Bulletin TT341.

Or is it a newer unit??

X430 excessive endplay, probably means you need a new compressor. I just checked the overhaul manual and did not see any provision for endplay.

But I'll ask for sure...

I thought I had updated this thread, but I guess not.

Replacing the ParkSmart module cured the problem. Have to cut a shelf or two up in the bunk to get access as the Park Smart goes in before the plastic cabinets. And even then there is just barely room enough to get the harnesses unplugged and the mounting screws removed......

Good call on the cap. X430 endplay can be fixed by green loctite between the bearing and housing with the help of a propane torch.

That makes sense, move the outer races away from each other and stick em in place.

To all that may not understand the main bearings are ball bearings like a transmission shaft would have...

Gotta love expansion valves on call with a sealed load. Just run it low speed till shes empty.

We had one leasing company customer that hauled the lab mice from Jackson Labs in Bar Harbor to the Boston and NYC airports...when those units went down all hell broke loose as the mice are genetically bred for specific testing so very valuable and time sensitive...

My guys have crawled over potatoes, fish, blueberries, lobster, etc. to get to the evap on a loaded unit...
if it's bad enough sometimes they have to transfer the load as you know...
