Jeff’s new trailer hauls a pretty good load..

Empty weight of truck and trailer.

Dang, that is a fine looking truck with a monster load! Why the crewcab? After seeing that load, will your dealership warranty the drive axles? What are the specs on them? I would guess he is pushing 80k on them.

I can't tell in the picture but are those Dayton wheels? I remember they used to run them a lot because they held more weight then the Budd's.

Those stakes must be bigger than they look. I see a lot of stress with the side logs not stacked on top each other.

Mike; is that one of the new Western Star 49X trucks that I read about in the SAE Truck and Off Highway issue? Looks good! This truck looks new that is why I asked!

What is the legal load limit for that setup? I’m by no means a weight nazi, just curious.

No limit, off road hauling. This is on the Golden Road....American Loggers family, this is one of Jeff Pelletier's trucks.

There used to be a certain amount of notoriety if you were heavy enough to "Zero Out" the scales by exceeding the capacity....I don't think the new ones will do that...

They are probably Meritor 46,000 lb rears with 4 way locks. I don't believe they are any bigger than that. They will take a lot of weight with a true driver behind the wheel

I think those are aluminum hub piloted wheels, Daytons have pretty well faded out even off road.

Having a bunk gives you extra storage plus it is nice to have a place to lay down if you arrive early at the mill, crane breaks down, etc....also some of these guys stay in those trucks all week long. There are logging camps scattered about where they can eat and shower...

Log stakes are called T-1 stakes, replaced the old big square tubing style stakes used many years ago.

Not sure, we did not sell them that one. It might be.

It has been here for repairs but I honestly can't remember if it is or not...

No, Big Mill and East Mill no longer exist. There is a new chip plant in Dolby Flowage (halfway between East Millinocket and Millinocket) that is accessible from both the main road and the Golden Road.
