Yes we know you had no clue!:(Never could understand why you send two tankers to fill my little two engine plane up, was some old KC 135Q's that barely see the tanker ahead the smoke, those planes must have been using water injection! That must have been the problem!
Had to clean the hardstands so launched the aircraft; thought you could use the company. :) Murphy's Law mitigation...Just in case a situation occurred that pretzeled the boom, or equipment malfunction, or your sled and reindeer were very thirsty at times? Gotta keep delivering them packages. Service is priority one...:D The water was just to keep exhaust ports clean on them J57s...;) Sorry if you were tailgating...;)

HP, that must have been quite a platform to strap on. Depart, set rate of climb and let her do what she was built to do.
You have no idea, 2 hours before plan departure go over the plan route and some caution spots. Now get on your pressure suit, to waiting bread truck go to the barn, climb the stand get in stand in front of seat hook you up, then you sit down, give signal going west start #1 inject TEB in gives green glow move throttle to idle position, same set up for # 2 pretty easy for starting. Now double check everything over closed your canopy, blink taxi light slowly come out of the barn, once out doesn't matter Astro Navigation Immediately comes on doesn't matter if daylight or night will track the stars withing 20 seconds or quicker. Now move to your run-up area spool both engines to 1.245, look at egt and fuel flow, looks good bring engines back to idle, move to your departure runway. Now look at the clock want on time out of here, move both throttles forward, lift throttles in to after burner mode, one burner lights first usually # 2 acft moves rights then # 1 lights your at about 150 to 160 knots and started to really smoke. Gently pull nose up you are feel gear has left the pavement, put the gear handle up. Now start you climb out take up to mach 1.6 skin is heat up, flip position switch where is my older KC 135Q as I call old smokey I slow down and meet up with my buddy, you know the drill I am low on fuel so I want full deal, once hooked up tells Homer only 1/2 tank available, next tank 5 m off to the right! Eeek So off to next tank another older KC 135Q go thru the same drill, done with that I come up on his port side drop down couple thousand feet both engines in full ab mode climb to 85K the faster I go the less fuel I use roughly 35 m a minute. Remember I am driving the "A" model!;)

Hp, you're spot on...i have no idea what is entailed in managing the A model. I salute you aka: HPSimpson.

Yep, it is a pretty small cub of fliers that have gone that fast. We had one in our wood working class that retired to Anacortes, Wa and somewhere along the line in the last 10 years I met another that talked around over flying Vietnam and continuing North so low and fast that they could not react to his flight. Said he would loop into Alaska. He would have needed fuel somewhere along the line. So maybe Hp knows about the flight path?

Leaking fuel all along the way, what an incredible aircraft. I am envious.

Once you take acft to mach 1.6 the wing, and body is sealed up NO leaking at all, even after refilling no leaking. I only have 16 shots of TEB for each motor another item to keep track of there is a counter for that but you mental knowledge is better. Once your mission is complete and returning to your base of Operations now get ready for the landing about thousand miles you start the slowdown. Depending on weather conditions where you going to land may need to get more fuel just in-case? Landing is pretty easy big giant chute since there are no flaps or speed brakes slow down enough release chute, taxi to the barn, come in nice an slow, gently stop, shutdown both motors. Guys bring stands to both sides to get me out, there in fire suits I open the canopy takes couple minutes and I grab on guy stand up and out on the stand. Don't touch the aircraft you will get third degree burns instantly!:p:D

You're cooking long front panel red light comes on, you notice real quick, remember this is the " A" model anything is possible # 1 Engine is using excess fuel, you bring both engines out of after burner. This is sort a problem you have to land somewhere an not at a base that is prepare for my visit, big problem there is a list of facility that can handle my type, now with pressure suit gloves on take move around in trying to reach HF radio switch turn on set, now contact and get the circus moving  Normally all radio's are in the off position, who do we really need to talk with zip!
Landing away there looking for tanker so can get fuel, top my tanks off, tanker turns on tract device and I head there a mere 900 hundred miles west, while the office personal figure the next move, arrive at the KC 135Q and do the usual hooking up there pumping fuel and then told #1 is ******* fuel bad, yes I am aware. I transmit #1 engine ******* like race horse. Finish on tanker back out stay near by I tell base I am shutting down number one engine, you cannot do that well since I am thousand miles from a base I must do, how will you fly acft, well if I cannot I will arm de-struck package and go with the aircraft. Base folks stay best option is to land at Diego Garcia in Indian Ocean, we see information you have shutdown # 1 one yes, that is correct about 1.5 hours away well here we go, the tanker will stay with you there is Navy carrier ahead. There launching acft for your protection, considering this is all dark out biter warn Navy acft I have no lights or beacon and I am black ! to boot.As the A modal never had any navigation lights or beacon installed. I arrive near the Diego they transmit on HF tell me landing information say don't see you on radar! I will bet you don't. I see tanker and other aircraft, next step prepare to land see lights in distance, put gear down Holly heck "A " model is handful keeping straight gear touch down, that big chute to slowing down in hurry. I turn off main runway I release the chute.:cool:o_O
About a year after was told that the line from main full controller had crack and that was the cause.
