No! I saw him perform in the late 80's at the Macoupin County Fair (Carlinville, IL). He is one of my alltime favorites.

My parents listened to all of these singers when I was a kid on the ranch in Montana. I remember Flying a UH1 from Oahu to the Big Island and tuning in an AM radio station, it was playing "A white sport coat" from Marty Robbins. I never would have dreamed when I was a kid listening to that song on the ranch as a kid that some day I would be flying a helicopter across islands in the south pacific listening to "A white sport coat".
I know, I think about weird things. Just brought me to another moment in time and would like to have had my dad where I was at listening to that song again.
