Wish they could make them have zero maintenance, fill for life, no fluid or filter changes, and last a million miles!:)

Oil change and fuel filter change time...AGAIN...o_O

So bored with it after 572,540 miles, done it so many times over the years.

Did the oil change today, will get around to the fuel filters tomorrow, unless someone wants to come over and do it for me, I'm feeling especially lazy today...:D

I’m getting close on air/fuel/cabin filters, thanks for the reminder to order them. Probably come due next month.

Look on the bright side. There are 52 weeks in a year and 550 miles driven per weekday... when I had to change the oil every 2500 miles on the 6.5TD I ran delivering auto parts with a cargo trailer that was like once or twice a week. Also burned a quart every 500 miles working the grades hard. Eh, 5 gal pails was the smallest I would buy engine oil in back then.

So the Cummins 15,000 mile oil changes are not bad as you wouldn't even have 40 oil changes done yet... :D

Well, got the fuel filters done.
Should have just done it yesterday, it only takes about 20 minutes.
Oh well, since I don't like to run in ice and snow, it may be sometime in March before I have to fool with it again.

I would think by now you would simply wake in the middle of the night and do it. Kinda like sleep walking.

It would be nice to have a complete one page maintenance schedule. Instead of 2 books & the variations of usage & other deviations based on what the truck is equipped with.

Cummins is all in on electrification. Your wish will soon be granted!
Then a whole new set of headaches will crop up.
Ain't no free lunches.
I would rather be wrenching SAE then trying to figure out some frayed wire or SW upgraded!! Maintenance keeps those hanger queens flying...nothing worse than auto-electric IMO

It wasn't too long ago that 500 lb-ft of torque was strictly Diesel territory.

Now, a bone-stock 3.5l Ecoboost is giving us that much. And they're not restricted like generic motors does. With those people, you have to buy a high-end $60k pickup for the privilege of paying even more money for a hot-shot engine that will get its doors sucked off its hinges by a commercial grade, F150 work truck from Ford.

FCA isn't going to take a back seat to anybody. With the new merger, they're gonna be a serious contender in the tech department. They are now (or will be in a few days) the 4th largest auto maker in the world behind Toyota, Volkswagen and Renault/Nissan/Mitsubishi.

Note the lack of an American company in there? Not sure Tesla counts. Don't think it does. They are gigantic in terms of Market Cap. yuge-a

Point being, electric is on the way. Whether it's HEV or whatever, it's coming. And if one of them screws up and makes a pile of doo-doo, it might be the end for them.
