Ok guys, been around these trucks for a long time and I saw something I have never seen.
I had a 98 24v towed to my shop a few days ago because it had been sitting on a farm for years and didn't run.
So I push it in and start working on it and that's when I noticed it.
It's a 24 valve, has the newer style seats, dash, like you would expect.
But it doesn't have rear doors that open, its like they used an early 98 cab and stuffed all the 24 valve stuff in it.
Has anyone ever seen this??

Interesting, I thought the rear opening doors debuted just before the 24V rolled out so all 98 24V’s should have 4 doors.

The Quadcab did debut as an option in ‘98. It was still an option in ‘99, but I think most opted for Quadcab over Clubcab. Quadcab was standard beginning in ‘00 model year and Clubcab was history.

The factory will use up parts (in this case club cab bodies) until they're gone. Why waste them? You can end up with some unusual mixed year builds which is why the dealer service department wants a VIN and why auto parts suppliers get it wrong so often.
