I have enjoyed reading all of the articles on Driving Line by Mike McGlothlin about all of the diesel platforms from Dodge, Ford, & Chevy.
He seems like a really knowledgeable guy when it comes to the history of the diesel engine in light duty American made pickups.

I found one of the references in this article very interesting & have had trouble finding any more information online regarding it...
The statement that the Bosch p7100 injection pump was introduced to help the Cummins 6bt meet the new stricter EPA requirements starting in 1994.
It made sense to me... Chevy & Ford both made changes that year as well.
So....what say you? Who has heard this before & does anyone have any sources that I haven't been able to locate?
Thanks in advance.
