Does anyone know what these two features actually are/do? I was scrolling thru the scanner and came across these and both were disabled. I thought maybe the evr idle up was for the cruise control idle up feature so I enabled it, but no luck there.

EVR is electronic voltage regulation, and is supposed to idle up under high amp draw like an ambulance or winch. I want to enable mine, just haven’t yet.

Idle shut down prevents the driver from idling all day. It can be set to 5-60 minutes.

I enabled it at tried it, but it leaves the ignition on afterwards so I disabled it.

Your cruise control idle up should have been enabled from the factory.

Thanks for the info. Ya, the idle up isn’t working even when I enable it. Maybe because I have a G56 it won’t allow it?

I didn’t realize you had a G56. As far as I know there isn’t a way to enable it on 4th gens.

I heard there is a blunt cut green wire under the dash that needs to be grounded for the feature. It is similar to the wire that had to be added to the engine connector on the 3rd gens. Both are for the clutch interlock function.

We heard that for my buddies 2010 but couldn't ever locate it, and others had the same issue. Maybe it was a 2010 issue???

I will now be on the hunt for this elusive green wire!!

@AH64ID. Not to hijack thread, but do you happen to know iff that EVR function is also on 6.4 powered trucks, and if yes, is it enabled/disabled same way? I've winched with a couple of Power Wagons where idle speed increased "automatically" but the owner hadn't reported making any changes. Thanks.

That's the ECM that wants to keep up with the high electric load from the winch. Either it is programmed distinctively for that or standard on all.
I've seen that feature numerous times with different cars during winter time and high electric demand that they raise idle speed to keep the battery charged.
