What I want to know is what do you do when the batteries go dead on the middle of the desert. Not like you can carry a 5 gallon can of fuel with just in case thoughts. I'm not on board with all this kool aid.

Well you would hope that your neighbor is following you with their CTD truck!!! LOL

That said, and IMO, there is really is no "kool aid" there as I am sure that this truck is being designed for and marketed to independent and service contractors as well as suburbanites going weekend camping and NOT to hardcore offroaders...

Exactly, and still takes fossil fuel to charge the batteries.

Of course, THAT is the dirty little secret behind EV's ... they simply utilize "one big exhaust stack" at the electricity generation facility instead of many little ones behind each vehicle.

And while there may well be some power efficiency gains by utilizing one giant power plant instead of many many small ones, until the time comes where more electrictiy is being generated by solar power, and other truly renewable sources, the idea that EV's are "green" is a joke. IN SHORT, they might well have their place in a heavily urban/suburban environments to reduce localized air pollution and increase localized air quality but that is about all.

All that said, and while I am NO Ford fanboy....I DO like some of the design features that this truck offers...INCLUDING the frunk!!! LOL

Wonder if you will need a license to buy fuel for the gennie or they will come out with one that has a wind turbine and/or solar panel. Maybe a set of bicycle pedals on the gennie crankshaft, get your fintness workout with a wi-fi peloton and charge your batteries, a win win.

An ev would be ideal for 95% of my driving. I have a 28 mile round trip work commute and most of my other trips are 50 miles or less. I could even charge at work so my company pays for it. However, the ev would have to be in addition to one of my current vehicles, not a replacement for one of them.
