No, if there were any issues with the DPF there would be a code posted and the check engine light would be on.Hey all just wondering, when I bought my 2016 2500 new the tip of the exhaust pipe was clean as a whistle. Now with 75,000 miles it has some black Discoloration two it. Is that an indication that the particulate trap is bad? Thanks for your input
The tailpipe should be perfectly clean inside. Wipe your finger on the inside and see if it comes out black. If it is more than likely you have a crack in the DPF. If you pull the outlet pipe off and look at the face of the DPF it should be white. If you see any black dots on the face it has a crack.
