Whats a good OBD2 code reader for 99 diesel ?

I use the Actron 9670...around $ 150.00. I also I have a Bluedriver that works well. You can spend any amount of $ and just depends on what you want.

Can you access ABS codes with these?

Oz', I've never had a reason to check for ABS but I do recall seeing the option in the Actron menu...not sure about the BD.

Thanks, I'm looking around for a friend with 98.5.
I checked it with my Autoenginuity but he isn't be able to use that program, he needs something that is easier.

The Autoenginuity is far above in terms of diagnostics than the Actron. If I was more into wrenching I'd probably have a look at it but not at this stage in life.

i tried blue driver for the 99 and doesn't read anything . basic want to read Cummins fault codes , ill i get is p1693

Garrett, the 1693 is a companion code that that relates to a problem detected in the ECM or PCM. Strange you can't drill down in the BD.

JFI, i had the 1693 to in the said truck, and it was the only one, even AE didn't revealed an underlying code.

Using a drb I have never seen the code in one module without having a code in the other
