ERS issue?

Howdy folks. I think I have a pretty good understanding of the ERS operation but I'm not sure if I'm having an issue or not. The basic question is whether the trans should ALWAYS downshift when selecting a lower gear. It mostly does, except about half the time on a 5-4 and 4-3 downshift when lightly loaded. It will downshift at those times if you provoke it with the skinny pedal. I stopped in at a dealer and the service writer didn't know. Looking for more knowledgeable input. Thanks!

Mine does that too, but I have only noticed it on the 4-3 because it is something I do almost daily. It's a very minor annoyance so I have not looked into it.

I agree, its not a major annoyance, but I'd like to know before they tell me it's " normal ".
