My leaky driver's side headlight let water through the connector and into the harness connector. When I changed the headlight I cleaned the corroded connections on the harness connector but functions of the headlight are failing randomly. It started with the LEDs - the parking light and turn signal. The next to fail was the bright headlight and now the main headlight doesn't work. I'd like to troubleshoot this and be sure that power is coming to the headlight appropriately. Can anyone provide the connector pinouts and descriptions and the harness color codes? Is there a main 12V feed and control lines for each function or is it just simple power to each function?

Thanks,

Al

Found some stuff that might help.

Did not find the actual connector views.

I'm sure it's easy to see some colors off this one diagram.

And the basic overview is attached.

Good luck with your repair.

Last night I found multiple sources for a replacement connector I can splice in. I'll probably go that route but delivery doesn't meet my current timeline. I''ll have to try to get this working short term.

I am embarrassed (again) to report that the problem was not corrosion, but a poorly seated connector. Even knowing that was the problem I had a devil of a time getting it seated. I had to push the retaining clip while seating the connector and even then it was very hard to get it permanently seated. If I had some silicone grease I would have lubricated the connector body, but I didn't have any. My cleaned contacts looked fine and everything worked when I tested it before reinstalling it. Now the bad news. Turning the adjustment screw did nothing to the headlight beam. I had read that you could break it by over-adjusting it so I was very careful to turn slowly and look for movement. Either it was improperly assembled or it was a return that carparts.com shipped to me. I had a similar problem with the passenger side headlight I bought from them and ended up buying from Geno's Garage. I guess I'm a slow learner.
