DPS versus BD Manifold Replacement

What is this device on the Turbo?

Has any one got a transmission from or had their transmission rebuild by CPPDiesel in PA?
No personal experience but if its the same place I would pass on that one........

Not very good reviews.

I haven't heard anything out of Chris, owner of CPP, in years. He used to be very active on CompD until all the complaints started. I don't know what happened, but it got to the point where they were burning him alive on CompD over complaints of folks not getting their stuff they ordered and not getting their money back, some of it was some very expensive stuff. Honestly, I was very surprised the other day that CPP popped up on a Google search for a set of injectors. I'd have thought he was long out of business. Maybe he got all that straightened out or sold out and it's better now. I don't know.

Yeah they are pretty active on responding to Google reviews.

They had to turn their phone system off due to call volume, and are running email only, that is what I read from the posts listed as replies to some reviews. So are listed from CPP on Google.

They have some sort of really glitchy e- commerce deal that let's you order stuff and complete check out but there are disclaimers all over to contact them first to verify availability, of course nothing is available due to the good ol supply chain.

Personally I have stopped taking orders for multiple products that are in high demand in my line of business, we're not talking $10 bottles of snake oil, legitimate parts that drive a large unit of my retrofit business are just dried up not available.

When I was still taking orders early Jan/Feb 2021 we have a nice back log of projects, we just pushed our 6-8 weeks to 12-16 weeks and scheduled accordingly, so what would normally be a busy March-May would shift say June-Aug.

Well June comes and still no parts for multiple orders, then the excuses come out and I saved the list, again not $10 orders here, clients were starting to get pretty ugly with me. July and Aug still no parts, no way to expedite anything can't toss money can't personally drive and pick up, send our own trucks because nothing is available. Finally in Sept we start to see some parts for a fee jobs from Jan, and start to schedule installs, it just has been super ugly.

So around Aug I made the decision to pull the plug on all new orders for anything suspect or material we could not get, it's a good chunk of business but it's not like some other shop can do the work, sure you can take orders and slam it down your vendors and call and try to get the material, but it's not there. I have a decent backlog into 2023 still so will turn it back on maybe mid 2022 if needed.

We luckily have alot of friends on the factory side and we have folks in some of our suppliers factories, so we build what we can we shift our designs too, stuff we can work with.

Unfortunately from what I see on CPP they just never stopped taking the orders, can't get parts, folks who are being told NO elsewhere think by ordering from anywhere like CPP results in magic parts.

It's a no win for either side, I think they need to fix their order systems and get back to what they are good at, which I have not a clue, but they are sunk on that name on the internet, I don't see how you can overcome the amount of bad reviews, which I think some are fake bad reviews just by looking at the number of reviews and timing of some there are too many negative reviews from users with 1 review and they are super close together, but alot appear legit.

There are review responses and they are written by someone pretty close to the situation and are not internet neutral tone, so you can read up on those and I hear their side and I know at some level what they are up against. People are crazy to think they are going to get some of these parts when no one else has them.

But having a system that takes orders and money for these parts but requires a manual phone call (that is turned off) and now an email that is now overrun... its a bad spot to be in. That's what they probably need to work on.

From Google Maps their place looks like a quaint spot in SW PA, very rural area, they probably do fine with local work and should look to call it a day on some of these products.

Thanks for the quick response guys, i ended up going with Bluementhal instead

No complaints with them, did a good job on my NV5600 at a fair price. FWIW, I was told they were the factory rebuilder of OEM transmissions for RAM, but that was many years ago.
