Does anyone have the problem that when it rains or when you wash your truck that water gets in between the inner and outer shells. My does and alot of water comes out when I open the hood. I am concerned about internal rusting and freezing which might damage the hood. I know the hood is not steel but certain parts are. Right now I know alot of water is frozen inside due to the freezing weather I am having.

I pulled my hood badges off and put a thin bead of black rtv around the perimeter then reinstalled. There’s 8 tabs that hold them in (3 on top/bottom/ 1 on each end) place just work them off easy with a trim tool. Problem solved.

Ah the unintended consequences of a new design. Who would have thought water would leak past those new fancy badges??

They are gasketed, but I feel once they clip in there isn’t enough tension to keep water from sneaking past. If the clips were a couple C-hairs shorter the gaskets could probably do their job. Maybe that was the TSB, a snugger fitting badge?

They just use glue on the doors to hold the badges. Why holes in the hood of any kind are good is beyond me. Dumb idea award.

i thought the hoods were filling with water ?
that tells me there isnt any weep holes or theyre poorly located.
i guess you could try and seal the hood 100% water tight.
cant say ive ever had a vehicle where the hood filled with water but it couldnt be difficult to figure out some kind of solution. after all its just a hood

I knew those HORRIBLE looking Badges were up to no good!!!!!!!

I like mine, reminds me of a Peterbilt:)
