What is your beef with Wix? I use them on everything but my '21 Ram and '17 Escape. Oil, fuel, air and hydraulics.

Wix fuel filters can be a joke. They often don’t meet the same specs as the OEM filter.

The Wix oil filter for these trucks isn’t horrible and their XE version is quite a bit better than the mopar one.

Rumor is that Wix makes the 4” pleat 3rd Gen air filter and it’s a great filter.

I’d never put a Fram fuel filter in my truck either. OEM, Donaldson, or Baldwin… depending on the generation.

it was a wix filter . No way is the wix filter better than even the cheap fleetgard guess I’ll have to cut this one apart

Yes the XE Wix is rated quite a bit better than the MOPAR.

That being said the only oil filter I will run is the Donaldson DBL7349.

Since the thread is/was about the Mopar oil filter, I am unsure why the posted pictures are of a fuel filter. You can't cut them apart, they are already a cartridge type.

You seem to have heart burn with Napa/Wix filters. Can you provide a reason? Like knowledge, experience or facts? First hand knowledge of any filter failure or engine damage, fuel system damage, hydraulic system damage or engine dusting?

When you just say they are junk, I am not buying it. 50 years of use, on maybe 100 pieces of equipment in that time frame. Nothing stands out for me.

Not sure when this took place, but Mann+Hummel appears to be the owner of Wix/Napa. German engineering is usually pretty good. I think you will be hard pressed to find someone who sells more filters on the global market.

Availability is important to me. If Baldwin, Fleetguard or Donaldson were local I would probably use some of them. The thing with Napa is, no mater the filter, they will have it or can get it. Other brands, not so much.

Can you tell, you pushed my buttons:D

So your beef is the Wix has plastic? They don't appear to make an XE version of the 97-99 fuel filter element. They do make it for my '01 and what I use. Here is a picture of the Fleetguard, looks like plastic to me.

The engine oil filter fro wix has a plastic seal between the can and the element the fleetgard has a rubber seal . Can you not see the filter media spacing on the wix piece of crap fuel filter

Can you see the difference yet ? Not much of an eye for detail ? Wix forgot half the filter Media but they didn’t forget to the Lower the price
