2020 Ram 3500 w/air suspension.

Who has changed out their factory wheels and tires with a leveling kit and taller wheels and tires with the auto leveling system? When i checked a year ago my tire provider didn't have a fix for doing said modifications but I suspect by now many of you are doing just that. Any suggestions or war stories would be much appreciated.

Leveling kit would make you nose high. Truck is already level. You could use the Leveling spacers with rear blocks to lift the truck some. Hard part would be rear shocks. KYB is only one making a stock replacement and I don't think anyone makes for a lift.

I believe Bilstien has replacement shocks for the 19+ auto-level trucks.

I’ve also seen 3” lifts for them, but I don’t recall the brand.

The factory air ride is really close to level compared to the non air ride .

My son just did that with his new 2022 Ram 3500 . His truck sure appeared to be lower in the front ,not as much as my 2014 3500, but like all Rams sure appeared to be lower in the front .

He went with a 2" level in the front , with 35's . Tires ,and wheels were 22" . Fuel wheels , and 35/1250/22 Nitto Ridge Grapplers . No issues so far ,but its only been about week. He lifts or levels all his new trucks right after he gets them . His previous truck was a 2016 3500 Ram ,and lifted 6" , no issues ,but he grew tired of the lift , and the 38" tires . Not practical for what he does , and tows on a daily basis with his business . The 2016, as well as this 2022 both had the factory air ride .

If you don’t use alt it may not be too bad, but there are a lot of suspension benefits to alt.

Even a 1” level would look bad, IMO, in alt ride height, as alt make the truck level.

Looks bad to some ,good to others. his truck looks good to me , much better then my stock 2014 3500 . I do know if you want to run 35's you will be leveling the front . He doesn't tow heavy, just a smaller box trailer , not a big deal .

His truck level in the front ,and 1" higher overall with the 35's looks great compared to the stock trucks .

You don’t need a level kit to run 35’s, just the proper offset.

My stock tires with chains are at least as big as a 35” tire, if not later, and I have no rubbing with 4 chains on.

Level kits also reduce tire clearance to the firewall, but increase it to the front bumper.

That was my assumption that he needed the clearance from
past experience with a different truck .He wanted 35’s and the 2” lift in the front .

Here it is for the OP again , 2022 Ram 3500 with factory air ride , 35’s on 22” wheels . 2” level in front , drove the truck before and after . IMO it rode and handle just as well or better then stock . And even an old 74 year old like me thinks the truck looks great , and yes opinions vary .

That truck of your sons looks good to me , will have to get a side shot of my sons 2022 with the level in front , and post it here . If it’s higher in the front so be it , looks great to me .

I don’t think my son had any of that done , pretty sure just a 2” spacer on the coils . What is the purpose of those brackets , and the 1/2” ? Only experience for me is a two inch level in the front of my old Superduty , and all it was , was a spacer under the leaf springs ,

With a coil suspension the level kit will move the axle aft when you lift it, via springs or spacer, so either longer control arms or bracket spacers are used to push the axle back forward for proper tire clearance. Depending on the wheel/tire combo it may not be needed.

You don't have to but it places the axle back where it belongs.
