When were the DPFs added to the 6.7?

Truck died

Many of you helped out on another thread labeled Transmission issue or not. Now I have put that post to bed I'am starting another thread with 3 fault codes that the transmission place found. I will give the codes and would like your input on how to fix them and what to check for.
1-PO868-Line pressure low.
2- PO944-Loss of hydraulic prime.
3- B1661- Fog Lamp control.
I'm not a mechanic, where should I go to get help with these code repair?

Thank you much,
Bobby A

Both of those P codes are transmission codes, and the transmission place should have known that.

Are the fog lights working properly?

Have you tried clearing the codes? They are probably from being 2 quarts low, and should clear.

Thank you for your willingness to help. I have not actually talking to the trans shop about the codes, I was just reading off the invoice. I will try calling this afternoon and get back to you on that.
In regards to the fog lights, I'm pretty sure they are working, I can't remember if I ordered the truck with the fog lights or it was a add on after I received the truck. Also, I do have replacement aftermarket headlights and tail lights. not sure if that has anything to do with the code. I will post back after I talk to the trans shop. Thanks again,

Some times LED aftermarket bulbs / lamps can cause the lamp monitor to trip due to the lack of resistance in the circuit, my 2004 did that when I put LED projectors in it and I had to get a resistance box to eliminate the nagging "LAMP OUT" warning.

Yes I know what your talking about there. I have had aftermarket head lights and tail lights in my truck for years, I don't think thats my issue hear. Just speculating though.

Hi John,
Just heard back from the transmission shop, yes they did clear the codes, thanks for bringing that to my attention. They said if the codes come back they would like me to bring the truck back in. I will be going back there in about 3 weeks to have them check the trans fluid before my 2400 mile trip, they will check to see if the codes come back at that point however I may not have very many miles on the truck by then.

I see, problem solved as expected.

Was wondering about presenting the codes after they fixed it.
Thank you all, you guys are AWESOME !!, I wish I would of known about this forum many years ago, you guys probably could of saved me many headaches and money throughout the years. Lesson Learned.

I joined right after I got my truck and found this forum! has been a great help for me and to pass on my experiences and knowledge to others! Glad you got it figured out and seems like a good shop!

Yes, you are right, I had no clue of these forums until someone over on the Dodge forum guided me to this one, I am forever greatful to that person, was it you ?? I just had another issue pop up, not a big deal but I guess I have to start another thread.

It wasn't, but I would have if I saw what you're driving! Every time I see a RAM with a Cummins, I ask if they've heard of this and give them a card with my name a TDR member # along with TDR & Genos web address. Try to help others help themselves! The other thing I mention if they have a newer rig, is to tell them about AlfaOBD! This has help me with many things along with some customizing ability! :D Glad the TDR team was able to steer you in the right direction with the help and advice offered! Great bunch of guys and gals on here! All willing to offer the been there, done that type of help! :D

I am no mechanic, I bought this truck to pull my 5th wheel around the country. I have no clue of things to customize the truck as you mentioned. I will try to be on the look out for the AlfaOBD, once again, I will need help on how to use it. Yes, a GREAT bunch of guys and if I had the knowledge I would help also. I am on a 5th wheel forum and have helped out there many times, so I know what you mean. Thanks again everybody !! More post and questions to come. LOL, Seriously.

Good afternoon gentle people. I would like to revisit a code issue with a little more detail. I now have 169 K miles on my truck. I usually only drive the truck on long distances. It seems as long as I change the fuel filter before I go on long trips I don't get the engine light coming on. This last trip, I changed the fuel filter, I drove 2700 miles without issue. I usually change it again before I drive back, which is another 2700 miles and don't have a check engine light come on. This time I decided to do a test and not change the fuel filter and about 900 miles into my trip I get the check engine light come on. I stopped at a Dodge dealership in Cartersville, GA. Robert Loehr dealership and the service manager was so kind and helpful and plugged the code reader in and gave me the codes to take to my dealership once I returned after my trip. The codes read PO868 and P1011 and P000F. Can you guys tell me what to look for and what might make these codes continue to come up, this is not the first time. But again, I think it might have something to do with not changing the fuel filter but I should not have to change it every 2 or three thousand miles. The service manager did say since I travel through several States and the fuel blend might be different in each State, that could be triggering the check engine light to come on. I have an appointment to take my truck in on Wednesday. I would appreciate some help before I take the truck in, I would like to put this to bed once and for all. I thank you all in advance

P0868 is still transmisson pressure low, maybe the filter isn't installed properly.

P1011 is High pressure pump CP3 not reaching desired pressure.

P000F is Rail pressure relief valve popped open - which could be related with the former code.

The PRV shouldn't pop open under normal driving conditions, do you run a tuner of any kind.

I hope the dealer didn't delete the codes otherwise the very important freeze frame data associated with the set code is lost for your dealer to read what was going on when the code was set.
Codes in general shouldn't be deleted unless through the mechanic that is working on the vehicle.
Drivability isn't impacted by that light on the dash.

Now you show up at the dealer with a vehicle where everything is sound.

honestly you shouldn't be getting a low rail pressure code after a few thousand miles and the fact your truck has doen it several times makes me wonder if you have a lot of debris in your fuel tank if nothing else.. I've had exactly one occurance of a low rail pressure code in my truck in 160000 miles of driving and towing and I atttribute that to the fact that occurance happened on a round trip to Alaska towing my trailer and me having to buy fuel at some sketchy looking fuel stations in the Yukon or BC.. and I think the filters were up near the 15000 mile mark when that happened... because it has never happened again.

No tuner, this truck is completely stock and I am the original owner. One thing I would like to point out, I use diesel kleen in my tank, 10 ounches per about 30 gallons of fuel. That product is endorsed by Cummins so I don't think that has anything to do with it but I wanted to mention it. I don't think he deleted the code because the paperwork he gave me shows codes were stored. I just wish I would get someone to get to the bottom of this and put an end to it. Its not a very pleasant drive when you out of state and a truck filled with personal items and having that check engine light staring in your face and of course the chime that comes on reminding me to see dealer now every 5 minutes or so.

have you tried using this stuff or is that what you meant by Diesel Clean ( most people mean power service silver bottle but Power Service has a specific tank clean product available) which is what I am recommending . https://www.walmart.com/ip/Clear-Di...g5ObBob10tLOXFXno2WvkXr_dRXeJGToaAhTVEALw_wcB

What fuel filters are you using?

Have you measured lift pump fuel pressure?

if a person gets to the point they suspect it is the lift pump, probably a better idea to remove the tank anc lean it out and just replace the pump that trying to diagnose.

Gentleman I wlll try to answer all post 16,17,18, and 19. Post 16- Always use Mopar fuel filters and no I have not had anyone measure the lift pump fuel pressure.
17- The product I use is from the same company you showed me a pic of. It called Diesel Kleen cetane Boost injector cleaner and performance improver. I have been using it for many years. #18- I will mention that to my diesel mechanic and see what he suggests and tell him what you said. #19- Don't know what the popping PRV you mentioned is ?? I appreciate each and everyone trying to help me. Someone also mentioned some time ago about a possible clogged fuel pump strainer, apparently that was/is a common problem ?? Your thoughts please.
