Watch Carefully when buying Zerex G05 coolant

Was so excited yesterday in finding the Gates belt that I forgot about coolant. What was in there was less than 5 yo and perfect but I lost a lot of it.

This is just a heads up...............

Zerex G05 comes in two varieties, 50/50 diluted and ready to use, and Concentrate, requiring dilution with distilled water.

I went to a nearby O'Reilly's and started grabbing up Zerex bottles and realized the sign said 50/50 $20.xx. I looked at what I had and Zerex no longer marks the front of the bottles as to what is in them, you have to look at the back and you find a rectangle that says 50/50 or Concentrate. That is the only difference in the bottle labeling. My older bottle at home has 50/50 clearly marked in very large characters on the front. Feom looking online the new 50/50 bottles might say so but I did not see it on the ones I looked at.

The store had stocked the shelves with Concentrate while the shelf tag said 50/50 very clearly. Needless to say, look very closely at what you are buying, its not readily apparent on the new bottles.

I went with the Concentrate at $23.99 each as that is a much better deal. add a gallon of distilled water from walmart and you have the equivalent of $40+ in 50/50 mix for a lot less money.

AND, I just now realized, Amazon is $5.67 a gallon cheaper on concentrate and about $8 a gallon cheaper on 50/50. Will have to remember for next time.

Well, when you go the Amazon route be sure to look at the vendor and make sure you don't end up with counterfeit crap! Easy to get fooled.

I ordered mine on Amazon too, a month ago. I ordered the concentrate. O'Reilly's is a rip off with their antifreeze.

Well, when you go the Amazon route be sure to look at the vendor and make sure you don't end up with counterfeit crap! Easy to get fooled.

Says Ships From, Sold From below the buttons on my phone.

Number of reviews sometimes and you can usually click on the name of the vendor if it's 3rd Party and see other stuff they carry and feedback.

Having been an Amazon seller in the past, Amazon allows sellers to chose to let them treat everyone's product as fungible, that way, if someone bought a unit of "your" product, Amazon could fulfill it with "somebody else's" supposedly identical product from a closer warehouse to shorten delivery times. It is easy to slip in a pallet or two of counterfeit product from China, especially on product that sells several thousands of units per day.

You could be more certain about legitimate products if you can buy from the manufacturer where it is specifically fulfilled by and shipped from the manufacturer, but then it won't be Prime free shipping.

Im a heavy user with virtually hundreds of orders and 99% all is good but 1% or less one thinks hmmmm...
That you get something that isn't exactly what you ordered.

The safety is that you can return everything, with virtually no questions asked. I've had very good luck ordering from Amazon. A few things damaged, but all and all, good experience.

Almost everything, sometimes you have to pay shipping which can be expensive, some products (like Generators) are totally non returnable.
But like you say, all in all it's great.
