Oh sorry.

3002 water separator.
3001 fuel filter.

I’m highly skeptical of their claims since modern standards don’t allow for a 2um filter, and their cross reference sheet is full of errors. Their cross reference sheet also has 20+ year old specs, so…

That being said those filters are probably fine and at least as good as OEM.

Without knowing actual specs, vs misleading advertising specs, I’d personally run a Baldwin BF1212 in the f/w sep position and the Donaldson DBF5814 as the fuel filter. Better than OEM f/w separation and 3um absolute filtration designed for HPCR’s.

No need to do research, FASS has a cross-reference sheet on their website published.

It’s full of errors, I wouldn’t use it. Secondary filters listed as f/w seps, incorrect micron ratings, F/w seps listed as secondary filters, etc.

It’s a joke.

Thank you, I didn't dive to much into it, just downloaded it years ago as a reference. Here in the states I always run Donaldsons.

AH64ID,

Can I get your input, I can’t get my hands on the Donaldson filter you recommended Above or the fleet guard replacement.
What are you thoughts on running the following cat filters

1R-0749 as the fuel filter and 256-8753 as the water separator?

The cat secondary filters are fine, and were once among the best, but there is better media.

I’d run a P551311 or P551313(shorter) for the secondary.

Cat water separators don’t usually have as high of separation rating as other filters. I’d run a BF1212 as the primary, or a FS1000.

I thought the Baldwin BF1275 was the preferred water separator? I've been running the BF1275 and Donaldson
P551315 for many years on my Air Dog 165. I like the metal drain on the Baldwin water separators, had issues with the plastic drain knob on the Donaldson filter and the claimed specs are better with the BF1275. CAT uses Donaldson made filters as OEM, but I usually go Baldwin on the water separator on CAT, Cummins, Detroit or whatever if its a spin on.

The BF1275 won’t fit the pump the OP has. AD used a different thread size on your pump.

The black goo you found in the bottom of the pickup and tank is the fuel that has been compressed to 30K psi and then excess from the common rail is released back to the tank.
