Hello, guys.

The back seat in our 2003 Ram does not have headrests. My oldest daughter will be too tall for her car seat soon. Without the car seat and no head rest, her head could hit the back glass in an accident. I need to get at least back seats with head rests.

Does anyone know which years the seats are interchangeable with a 2003? If I found a complete set of decent leather seats, I might ought to replace all of them.

Is the interchangeable years the same for both the fronts and rears?

Thanks for any help.

All MY of the 3rd Gen use the same seat mounts.
So for the rear you can use any bench you get your hands on.
Higher trim levels came with the fold out cargo floor.

When I look up 2003 there are many without headrests.
Changing the search just to 2004, not a single picture w/o - all trim levels had headrests since 04 then.

Front seats probably have some differences for the wiring throughout the years, aside from that also the same. Changing some Pins shouldn't be an issue as the controls are in the seat. But needs to be addressed before plugging it in!

I replaced the front seats of my 06 Laramie with 4th gen seats, great upgrade! The back seats of the 4th gen would need some minor tweaks to fit, as I recall.

I'm actually debating on removing my back seats all together since we are not having kids and I have no use for the rear seats. If your in the DFW area we can work something out.

Thanks, guys. Now to find some seats.

lionrampant - do the fourth generation front seats bolt directly to the third generation floor?

Yes, they do. The electric works for movement of the seats, but not heating, if you're dealing with the Laramie edition like I did.

My son's seat has a built-in head rest, so having no head rests on the seat is not relevant. Those head rests block the view too much anyway.
